Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, 1-13-92 <br />Page 7 <br />• ARBITRATION (Cont'd) Administrator Berger explained a policy has been adopted <br />and a training session was conducted with City emPloyees. <br />He advised the alarm system has been upgraded and a training session was <br />conducted for use of the new system. <br />Councilmember Malone withdrew the motion; Hicks withdrew the second. <br />Malone moved, seconded by Hicks, to direct the Clerk <br />Administrator to proceed with arbitration relating to the grievance filed. Motion <br />carried unanimously. (5-0) <br />SCHEDULE MPG; Malone mved, seconded by Growe, to schedule a Special <br />DISC. STATUS Informational Meeting on Thursday, January 30, 1992, <br />OF STOWE AVE. at 6:00 p.m., to discuss the status of the improvement <br />IMPROVEMENT of Stowe Avenue with residents in this area. Motion <br />carried unanimously. (5-0) <br />DISC; ODOR CcuncihTEmber Hicks questioned the expenditure related <br />BOARD EXPENDITURE to the City participation in the New Brighton odor <br />FOR RENDERING Board for the rendering plant. <br />Council discussed the necessity of continued participation in the costs related <br />to the New Brighton rendering plant and noted this matter was discussed at a <br />previous meeting in 1991. <br />Council concurred to direct staff to review previous Council minutes relating to <br />• the time -frame for the City of Arden Hills participation in the payment of legal <br />fees for the Odor Control Board, prior to payment of the current statement from <br />the City of New Brighton. <br />REPORT; L= Councilmmnber Malone reported on the LWFD Pension <br />PENSION MPG. Association meeting. <br />ZEDS SIGN C=icilmember Malone noted the Zeos sign displayed the <br />time and temperature during the last week and appeared to <br />be in ccnpliance with the Sign ordinance. He further advised that on the weekend <br />the sign displayed words and appeared to be "flashing", which is not in <br />compliance with the Ordinance. <br />Attorney Filla explained the business was issued a citation for violation of the <br />Sign ordinance and the court appearance was delayed; if the sign is not brought <br />into compliance, Zeos should be advised the City will pursue the court <br />appearance. <br />ODOR PROBLEM; Councilmember Growe questioned the status of the Hamlin <br />HAMLINE AVE. Avenue odor problem. <br />Clerk Administrator Berger advised he has not been able to contact the Engineer <br />in Woodbury to discuss this matter. <br />Growe requested the Administrator report on this matter at a future meeting. <br />. CITY NEWSLETTER Councilmember Mahowald questioned the status of the <br />City Newsletter and scheduled publication date. <br />Clerk Administrator Berger explained the staff has met with Grant Pound to <br />discuss the format and schedule for printing the newsletter. He advised a report <br />on this meeting will be forwarded to Council. <br />
