He advised the alarm system has been upgraded and a training session was conducted for use of the new system. Councilmember Malone withdrew the motion; Hicks withdrew the second. Malone moved, seconded by Hicks, to direct the Clerk Administrator to proceed with arbitration relating to the grievance filed. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) SCHEDULE MPG; Malone mved, seconded by Growe, to schedule a Special DISC. STATUS Informational Meeting on Thursday, January 30, 1992, OF STOWE AVE. at 6:00 p.m., to discuss the status of the improvement IMPROVEMENT of Stowe Avenue with residents in this area. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) DISC; ODOR CcuncihTEmber Hicks questioned the expenditure related BOARD EXPENDITURE to the City participation in the New Brighton odor FOR RENDERING Board for the rendering plant. Council discussed the necessity of continued participation in the costs related to the New Brighton rendering plant and noted this matter was discussed at a previous meeting in 1991. Council concurred to direct staff to review previous Council minutes relating to • the time -frame for the City of Arden Hills participation in the payment of legal fees for the Odor Control Board, prior to payment of the current statement from the City of New Brighton. REPORT; L= Councilmmnber Malone reported on the LWFD Pension PENSION MPG. Association meeting. ZEDS SIGN C=icilmember Malone noted the Zeos sign displayed the time and temperature during the last week and appeared to be in ccnpliance with the Sign ordinance. He further advised that on the weekend the sign displayed words and appeared to be "flashing", which is not in compliance with the Ordinance. Attorney Filla explained the business was issued a citation for violation of the Sign ordinance and the court appearance was delayed; if the sign is not brought into compliance, Zeos should be advised the City will pursue the court appearance. ODOR PROBLEM; Councilmember Growe questioned the status of the Hamlin HAMLINE AVE. Avenue odor problem. Clerk Administrator Berger advised he has not been able to contact the Engineer in Woodbury to discuss this matter. Growe requested the Administrator report on this matter at a future meeting. . CITY NEWSLETTER Councilmember Mahowald questioned the status of the City Newsletter and scheduled publication date. Clerk Administrator Berger explained the staff has met with Grant Pound to discuss the format and schedule for printing the newsletter. He advised a report on this meeting will be forwarded to Council.
