(4-0). <br /> <br />Fernwood Water tower - Paintinl! of City namellol!o on the tower <br /> <br />Staff is requesting direction from Council whether the Fernwood Water tower should <br />have the City name/logo painted on it The cost is $3,500 to paint either the logo or just <br />the name on one side of the toweL <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone would like to see the name only shown as it advertises the City. <br />Councilmember Probst would like the tower painted tan with no name. Councilmember <br />Hicks commented the expenditure of $3,500 is not appropriate at this time. <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated the name on the tower identifies to the public where <br />Arden Hills is located and assists people who are looking for directions. <br />Councilmembers concurred to put this item on the Council agenda for August 30. <br /> <br />Arden Place Drainal!e Issue <br /> <br />. The following residents were present: ML Willy Bauer, ML Dale Noyed, and ML <br />McGuire. City Engineer Terry Maurer referred to his letter of August 17 and outlined <br />the conditions stated in his letteL <br /> <br />After a short discussion, Councilmember Probst motioned, seconded by Malone to <br />proceed with the improvement project Motion carried (4-0), The engineer was directed <br />to prepare project Plans and specifications and order the document for a Utility <br />Easement <br /> <br />Discussion followed relating to assessment charges, Mr. Maurer stated the Council <br />could assess 100% or had the option to choose another percentage amount or opt for a <br />flat amount <br /> <br />Mr, Noyed questioned whether the Storm Water Management fund could pay for the <br />improvement or part of the improvement. Further discussion to follow after obtaining <br />the appropriate quotes. <br /> <br />Rvder Student Transportation Update <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ML Fritsinger stated Ryder has approached the staff to apply for a variance to correct <br />the parking, dust, mud and noise problems on this site. Attorney Filla advised that this <br />site as a legal non-conforming use. The hardship for a variance and an R-l zoning do <br />not appear applicable. The other option would be to rezone the property to a B2 or B3 <br />zoning classification, therefore allowing Ryder to apply for a Special Use permit <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski opted for the rezoning to clean up the area. <br />Councilmember Probst would like to see a proposed Site Plan be presented to the <br />
