<br />'- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />WORKSESSION CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MAY 18, 1993 <br />4:30 p.m. . CITY HALL <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDERIROLL CALL <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Acting Mayor Hicks called to order the <br />Worksession City Council meeting at 4:37 p.m. Present: Acting Mayor Hicks, <br />Councilmembers Paul Malone, and Dennis Probst. Also present were: City <br />Administrator Dorothy Person; City Accountant Terry Post; Public Works <br />Superintendent Dan Winkel, Building Official David Kriesel, City Engineer Terry <br />Maurer, Garrett Lysiak, Bill Chapman and Recording Secretary Renee' Kaulfuss. <br /> <br />AGENDA ADOPTION <br /> <br />MOTION: Malone moved, seconded by Probst, to adopt the May 18, 1993 <br />worksession agenda. Motion carried unanimously (3-0), <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski arrived at 4:45 p,m, <br /> <br />Garrett Lvsiak - ReQuestinl! Appointment to Cable TV Commission <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mr. Lysiak presented his resume to the Council and outlined his areas of expertise <br />relating to Cable TV. Mr. Lysiak reported on items of interest relating to the 1994 <br />regulations, and area of responsibilities of the Cable Company as it relates to the City. <br />He is offering to be a technical consultant and assist David Sand in matters relating to <br />the Cable. The Mayor indicated Mr. Sand was open to this assistance. The staff will <br />bring this to the Council meeting as an appointment of Mr. Lysiak as a City volunteer <br />technical assistant on cable matters. <br /> <br />Mayor Tom Sather arrived at 5:05 pm and was updated on previous agenda items <br />discussed. <br /> <br />Update TCAAP Propertv <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Councilmember Probst informed the Council he met with Mike Fix from the <br />Department of the Army, Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant on May 12 and the lines <br />of communications are back on track. Mike Fix had informed Mr. Probst that there <br />seemed to be misunderstandings on the City's intent of the Concept Plan and that some <br />felt the City had been very aggressive. Mr. Fix noted the Army is notifying the affected <br />tenants of the need to vacate and to demolish existing buildings. Probst commented the <br />next meeting is scheduled for May 27 with Mike Fix, Paul Kirkwold, Dorothy Person and <br />himself. The meeting will address the issues of immediate needs, Probst will provide an <br />update as to the progress of the City's original request from 1991-92 for an immediate <br />lease with future purchase or turnover of the property. Probst will also attempt to speak <br />with the new Colonel and advise the Colonel of the City's intents so no lines of <br />communication will be misconstrued, <br /> <br />Staff was directed to locate the Washington office address of Pat Schroeder to obtain <br />her legislation regarding Colorado turnback of Army land. It was commented that <br />Commissioner Sando originally agreed in principles to the motives and intent of the City. <br />
