<br />, <br />.. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br /> <br />Minute. of Regular Council Meeting <br />Tuesday, December 27, 1983 <br />Page Tbree <br /> <br /> <br />Hauer said that they would like it to be an annual event: reported <br />that the committee worked hard and had fun doing it: thanked Parks <br />Director Buckley for hia assistance to the committee. <br /> <br />Hicks moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council accepts and <br />thanks the business community and Chamber for their contribution <br />to the Park Fund. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />. Hauer asked Council's cooperation again next year at Fall <br />Festival time. <br /> <br />Annual Institute for Building Officials - Larry Squires <br /> <br />Council was referred to Squires' memo (12/21/83) re Annual <br />Institute for Building Officiale. <br /> <br />McAllister moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council approve the <br />$8,0.00 registration fee and $85/day remuneration for time and <br />travel expense as per memo. Motion ~arried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Time Extenaion Request - Harold H. Alexander <br /> <br />Coun~il was referred to letter from Mr. Alexander (12/22/83) <br />requesting a 6-month extension of the variance for construction <br />of a house on Lot 12, Block 4, Josephine Hills. <br /> <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Christiansen, that Council approve the <br />6 month extension to August 1984. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />County Road E and Hamline Traffic Problem <br /> <br />Council was referred to memo from Glen VanWormer regarding the <br />intersection traffic concerns at Hamline and County Road E. <br /> <br />After a brief discussion, Council concurred that a copy of the <br />memo be eent to Mr. Salitros, requesting that he respond to the <br />memo, in writing, in order to frame the issue prior to Council'. <br />consideration at a later meeting. <br /> <br />Boschwitz' Response re ,Use of Arsenal Property <br /> <br />Council discussed the co-use suggestion of arsenal property for <br />ball fields. Concern was exereaaed that the "teJllPorary' use" is <br />too indefinite for the sizeable expenditure by the City to ~reate <br />and maintain ball fields. <br /> <br />Count Road E/Snellin Avenue Hi hwa Easement - Letter to Attorne <br />General's Office (11/22 83), objecting to the use of the land for <br />. an athletic purpose. <br /> <br /> <br />In discussion, it was noted that the existing fence was erected <br />by the County; City installed the backstop; the major use of the <br />land is not for an athletic field. It was noted that the County <br />Commissioners dealt with this matter about a year ago. <br /> <br />Application for Reduction in Assessed Valuation <br /> <br />Council was referred to letter from State re application filed <br />by Terry R. Evenson. <br /> <br />No action was taken by Council. <br />
