McNiesh advised that <br /> the Phase I Performance Bond is in'-the am~unt of ~38,475. <br /> After discussion, Rieks moved, seconded by Christiansen, . <br /> that Council table action until June I, 1984, pe nding <br /> explanation by Northwestern College as to reas ona for <br /> deviations from the plan as approved. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. (5-0) <br /> REPORT OF TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> Investments <br /> 12/19/83 - ~419,322.22 at First Federal at 10% interest, to <br /> mature February 21, 1984. <br /> 12/22/83 - ~535,OOO at First Federal at 10% interest, to <br /> mature April 16, 1984. <br /> Ricks moved, seconded by McAllister, to ratify the Treasurer's <br /> report. Motion carried unanimously. (5 -0) <br /> Fire Board Meeting of December 15th <br /> Council was referred to McAllister's memo (12/16/83) re the <br /> December 15th Fire Board Meeting. McAllister noted that a <br /> resolution or motion from the Arden Hills Council is req ues ted <br /> agreeing to the need for a third fire station. <br /> After review of the memo and discussion, the following concerns <br /> were expreased: <br /> 1. The current formula percentagee (Shoreyiew - 49%, Arden <br /> Hills - 34%, North Oaks - 17% ) may ehange in a few yea rs: <br /> 2. No significant benefit is envisioned by Arden Hills, <br /> un Ie s s development' of the areenal should occur, <br /> 3. Purchaae of the land by the ci ties, for ownership by the <br /> fire department, (possibly more appropriate to Ie as e <br /> the land to the fire department). <br /> Christiansen moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council clarify its <br /> position in writing to the Fire Board, that Arden Hills does not <br /> see a need for Arden Hills, should there be a need specifically . <br /> for Shoreview, the financial arrangements are not acceptable <br /> under the current formula and that Arden Hills invites further <br /> discussion. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> Arden Hills Fall Festival Donation to Park Fund - Arden Hills/ <br /> Shoreview/North Oaks Chamber of Commerce <br /> Mr. Loren Hauer (Coast to Coast Hardware) was present, rep resenting <br /> the business community participating in the Fall Fes ti val. McNiesh <br /> reported that Dee Knaak from the Chamber had hoped to at tend <br /> tonight's meeting. <br /> Woodburn acknowledged receipt of the ~l,OOO check from the Arden <br /> Hills Fall Festival, to be dedicated to the Arden Hills Park Fund. <br /> Woodburn thanked Loren Hauer and other participants for their work <br /> in making the Fall Festival a succeas, and for the park fund <br /> donation, noted that when the specific use of the money is known, <br /> the Chamber will be so advise d. <br />
