<br />. .Minutes'of Regular Council Meeting <br />March 14, 1983 <br />Page Five <br /> <br />Public Safety Committee Meeting <br />Chriatiansen agreed to attend the Public Safety Committee meeting <br />on March 21st (McAllister has a conflict). <br /> <br />Finance Committee MeetinR <br />Christiansen reported that he will be out of town March 24-27 and <br />will consequently miss the Finance Committee meeting on the 24th. <br />McAllister agreed to attend. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Two Petitions from Local Residents <br />Woodburn reported that he has arranged to visit the two subject <br />sites with Code Enforcement Officer Larry Squires on Thursday,. <br />March 17th. <br /> <br />It was suggested that they also look at the site of the Skjelstad <br />complaint in the same area of the city. <br /> <br />REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MC NIESH <br /> <br />Approval of 1983 Licenaes - Big Ten Supper Club and Sitzmark <br />Ski Shop <br />McNiesh explained that the listed licenaes have been assessed <br />penalties for late payment; noted that the listed licenses are <br />all renewals. <br /> <br />Christiansen moved, seconded by Mulcahy, that Council approve <br />the 1983 licenses as listed. Motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />1982 Cash Financial Statement <br />McNiesh reported that the 1982 Cash Financial Statement is <br />recommended by the Finance Committee f~r approval. It was noted <br />that the General Fund Reserves actually decreased in 1982. <br /> <br />Christiansen moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council approve <br />the transfers and accept the 1982 Cash Financial report as sub- <br />mitted. Motion carried unanimously (4-0) <br /> <br />Approval to Employ Darlene Scott <br />McAllister moved, seconded by Mulcahy, that Council authorize the <br />employment of Darlene Scott at $5.10/hour as clerk/typist. Motion <br />carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />Claims and Payroll <br />Christiansen moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council approve <br />the Claims and Payroll as submitted. Motion carried unanimously <br />(4-0) . <br /> <br />Pizza Hut Request for Temporary Banner <br />McNiesh reported that the Pizza Hut, in Arden Plaza, has requested <br />permission to advertise a "Personal Pan Pizza" program, by posting <br />a banner on the front of the building for 4-6 weeks. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In discussion, concern was expressed that the banners destrDY the <br />appearance of the center and distracts from other business places. <br />Council generally concurred that the use of banners is not encour- <br />aged. <br /> <br />McAllister moved, seconded by Mulcahy, that Council approve the <br />temporary banner for 4-6 weeks. Motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />Special Council Meeting <br />A Special Council meeting was scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th <br />at the Mounds View City Hall to discuss the Anoka County/Blaine <br />airport. <br /> <br />Letter from Ramsey County Parks and Recreation Department <br />to John Buck ley <br />Council was referred to letter from Ramsey County Parks and <br />Recreation Department re Bike Trail - Lake Josephine. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
