PARKS AND RECREATION <br /> • The Parks and Recreation Department has the primary responsibility of providing <br /> for the recreation interests and needs of the residents of Arden Hills. The <br /> department provides orderly and planned development of the park system, <br /> maintenance and upkeep of the park system as well as marketing opportunities <br /> available to all age groups to participate in recreational programs. <br /> Arden Hills park system consists of 16 pieces of publicity owned land totaling <br /> over 147 acres and approximately six (6) miles of finished trail. Neighboring <br /> g g <br /> parks can include such items as playground equipment, athletic fields and courts, <br /> picnic areas, multi-use trails and skating rinks. The City's trail system provides <br /> connections between neighborhood parks and commercial areas. <br /> Programs are conducted both independently and in conjunction with Mounds <br /> View School District #621's Community Education Department. <br /> Use of City Recreational Facilities. Facilities such as shelter buildings, ballfields, <br /> ice rinks, and tennis or basketball courts are available for individual or groups <br /> exclusive use by obtaining a permit from the City. Additional tables, trash cans <br /> • and some rental sports equipment is available in limited numbers. <br /> All parks are closed between one-half hour after sunset and sunrise of the <br /> following day. <br /> Dogs and other pets are required to be kept on a leash not more than six (6) feet in <br /> length. Dog owners are required to pick-up any dog excrement immediately and <br /> dispose of the waste in a trash receptacle. <br /> Beer or alcohol in any amount is illegal and shall not be brought into any park. <br /> • <br />
