Motion carried unani- <br />moualy (4-0). <br /> <br />August Council Meeting Schedule <br />After discussion, the following August meeting dates were scheduled: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />August 2, Special Council/Public Safety Committee Meetin@ <br />with Youth Service Bureau at 7:00 p.m. at the <br />Village Hall <br /> <br />August 9, Regular Council Meeting - 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall <br /> <br />August 23, Specisl Council Meeting - 7:30 p.m., Village Hall, <br />(Assessment Hearings) <br /> <br />August 30, Regular Council Meeting - 7:30 p.m., Village Hall <br /> <br />Budget Guidelines <br /> <br />Council was referred to McNiesh's memo requesting Councits recom- <br />mended percentage to be used for budget purposes for salaries and <br />interest on investments. <br /> <br />Council concur~ed that 6% for salaries and 12% interest on invest- <br />ments be used. <br /> <br />Request for Release of Highway Right-of-Way <br /> <br />McNiesh reported that another meeting is scheduled on August 16th <br />in Room 356 County Court House at 7:30 a.m. re this triangle par- <br />cel. The County Engineer has requested in-put from affected residents <br />and the City Planner. Council concurred that Planner Miller be autho- <br />rized to attend the meeting, and to determine the number of building <br />sites the parcel will accommodate without variances. <br /> <br />Super Fund Money <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />McNiesh reported that New Brighton, Arden Hills and Shoreview have <br />been added to the list of communities to receive Super Fund Money <br />for the long range solution of contaminated water; noted that if <br />the arsenal is the sole source, the money cannot be used, because <br />it is federal property; all data source of contamination should be <br />available by mid-October. <br /> <br />COUNCIL LIAISON REPORTS <br /> <br />International Union of Operating Engineers <br /> <br />Council briefly discussed the Proposals for the <br />from I.U.O.E. and concurred that Mayor Woodburn <br />tions on behalf of the Council. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />contract year 1983 <br />handle the negotia- <br /> <br />False Alarms <br /> <br />Johnson asked Council's in-put relative to an ordinance and license <br />system to regulate alarm systems; noted that there is an apparent <br />problem of numerous false alarms at least at one location in Arden <br />Hills. <br /> <br />Council concurred to refer the matter to the Public Safety Committees <br />of Arden Hills, Shoreview and North Oaks for their recommendations <br />to the various Councils and Fire Board. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
