Motion was not seconded. <br /> <br />Mulcahy moved that Council approve the hiring of Richard Cieminski <br />as Community Service Officer (CSO) @ $4.50/hr (20 hours/week). <br />Motion was seconded by McAllister and carried. (Mulcahy, McAllister, <br />Hicks, Woodburn voting in favor or the Motion; Johnson abstained <br />(4-0-1). <br /> <br />Tentstive Schedule for Assessment Hearings <br />Johnaon moved, seconded by Hicks, that a Special Council Meeting <br />be scheduled on Monday, August 23, 1982 for Assessment Hearin~s. <br />Motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />(August Council Meetings will be held on August 9th, 23rd and 30th.) <br /> <br />Claims and Payroll <br />After discussion, Hicks moved, seconded by Johnson, that Council <br />approve the Claims and Payroll, deleting the claim for Monroe <br />Maintenance Contract. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />COUNCIL LIAISON REPORTS <br /> <br />Human Rights Commission <br />Mulcahy reported that the Human Rights Commission is submitting <br />the same budget request as in past years. <br /> <br />Parks Committee <br />Mulcahy reported that he joined the Parks Committee members on a <br />tour of the Arden Hills parks, after which a short meeting was <br />held at the Village Hall; noted that the chief concern at this <br />time is an apparent shortage of softball fields - have 10 more <br />teams this year than last year. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee <br />Hicks reported that Johansen feels a five-year sealcoating <br />schedule of the Village streets will be sufficient to keep the <br />streets in good condition; reported all streets have been sealcoated <br />at least twice and are in good condition. <br /> <br />Alarms <br />~ reported 31 alarms in one month including <br />t res yterian Homes; frequency of alarms will be <br />Public Safety Committee and Fire Board meetings. <br /> <br />2 false alarms <br />considered at <br /> <br />Wingert Memorial <br />Johnson offered to prepare a sketch for lighting and landscaping <br />the flag pole area for Council's consideration. <br /> <br />Discrimination Complaint - Little League Team <br />Woodburn reported a complaint received from parents of a 7th graue <br />boy who is not allowed to play on a team on which 7th grade girls <br />are allowed to ptay. <br /> <br />-7- <br />
