Minut~~s. of Regular Council Meeting <br /> <br />February 22, 19~2 <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MC NIESH <br /> <br />Approval of 1981 Cash Financial Statement and Transfers <br />Council was referred~o~iesh'8--memo--of 2-10-82 a~o the 1981 <br />Cash Financial Statement. McNiesh noted that Table 8 indicates an <br />increase in water rates may be necessary this year; referred to <br />Finance Committee for its recommendations. <br /> <br />Hollenhorst moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council approve <br />the 1981 Cash Financial Statement and Transfers as submitted. <br />Motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Approval to Sell a Used Typewriter <br />Council was referred to repair estimate from AAA Typewriter Sales <br />Company relative to City's Smith Corona Typewriter, and request to <br />purchase same by Dorothy Zehm. <br /> <br />Hollenhorst moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council approve <br />the sale of the typewriter for $40.00, as recommended by HcNiesh. <br />Motion carried unanimously (4-0), <br /> <br />Approval of Licenses <br />Council was referred to list of 1982 renewal License ~pplications <br />pending Council approval. <br /> <br />McAllister moved, seconded by Johnson, that Council approve the <br />licenses as listed; W.D, Gray Rubbish Hauler license approval is <br />subject to approval of the City Health Officer. Motion carried <br />unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />CDC Request to Sell Produce to E~loyees <br />Council was referred to memo from Zehm (2-18-82) reletive to re- <br />quest to sell produce at Control Data Corporation. <br /> <br />After discussion, Johnson moved, seconded by McAllister, to approve <br />the sale of produce to CDC employees on the Control Data premises, <br />for one year, provided the produce stand is not visible from Lex- <br />ington Avenue. Motion carried unanimously (4-0), <br /> <br />Payroll <br />Johnson moved, seconded by McAllister, that Council approve the <br />Payroll as submitted. Motion carried unanimously (4-0). <br /> <br />Resolution Requesting ISO Inspectjon of_}_a.!<~~pJ:1.!E~01unteer <br />Fire Dept. <br />Council was referred to Jetter from Shoreview (2-17-82), and attach- <br />ed suggested Resolution, adopted by Shoreview, Requesting The In- <br />surance Services Office Conduct A Regular Inspection Of The Lake <br />Johanna Volunteer Fire Dept. Prior to December 31, 1983. <br /> <br />After discussion, matter was deferred to a later meeting pending <br />information relative to inspection charges by other private agen- <br />cies and when inspection can be made. <br /> <br />COUNCIL LIAISON REPORTS <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Hol!~nhorst suggested that a letter be sent to Pice Creek Water- <br />shed District, expressing Council's appreciation for the joint <br />meeting with them relative to resolution of the manhole situation <br />and control structure at Lk. Johanna. <br /> <br />McAllister reported the tenor of the Parks and Recreation Committee <br />Meeting; reported the Committee's complaint that Council 1pnores its <br />recommendatIons. <br />McAllister referred Council to proposed H.F. 1738 ~obile/~anufac- <br />tured Housing. Council unanimously concurred that letters be sent <br />to Senators Robert Ashbach, Gregory Dahl and Hubert Humphrey III <br />and to Representatives Steven Novak, Donald Valento and Richard <br />Kostohryz that Council fees strongly that municipalities should <br />retain the right to regulate these types of housing and solicits <br />assistance in opposing this proposed legislation. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
