CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br /> WORKSESSION <br /> MARCH 18, 1996 <br />I 4:30 P.M. - CITY HALL, PUBLIC WORKS LUNCHROOM <br /> CALL TO ORDERfROLL CALL <br />I Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Dennis Probst called to order the City Council <br /> worksession at 4:32 p.m. Present: Councilmembers Paul Malone, Dale Hicks, Susan Keim, and <br />I Beverly Aplikowski; City Administrator, Brian Fritsinger; Parks & Recreation Director, Cynthia <br /> Walsh; Public Works Superintendent, Dwayne Stafford; City Accountant, Terry Post; and <br /> Community Development Director, Kevin Ringwald. <br />I Roundtable Discussion <br /> a. Committee Reports <br />I Councilmember Hicks updated the Council in regards to the recent Public Safety <br /> Committee Meeting. The Committee has an opening for one member. <br />I Councilmember Malone updated the Council in regards to the March 6th Planning <br /> Commission meeting and the three cases which will be acted upon in April. <br />Ie Councilmember Malone briefed the Council on discussions by the Fire Department <br /> Benefit Association. Mr. Malone reminded staff that Attorney Filla was to have provided <br />I a legal opinion on approving pension changes. Mayor Probst also indicated a desire to <br /> look at a joint powers agreement and opening discussions with other cities regarding fire <br /> department services. <br />I Councilmember Aplikowski informed the Council of several upcoming Parks Department <br /> activities. The Easter Egg Hunt will be in April, flower plantings in June and Perry Park <br />I Grand Opening in June. Councilmember Aplikowski also noted that Land O'Lakes will <br /> assist the City with the preparation ofthe Economic Development marketing brochure. <br />I Councilmember Keirn requested that a staff member be appointed to serve as liaison to <br /> the Human Rights Committee. The Council concurred. <br />I b. Department Head Reports <br /> City Accountant Post briefly updated the Council in regards to the water meter <br />I replacement project. Mr. Post specifically requested input regarding the hiring of a <br /> consultant to assist with the preparation ofan RFP.
