Public Works Director Dwayne <br /> Stafford <br /> Absent: Terry Post (was in attendance at the Water Quality Task Force Meeting) <br /> A. Approval of the minutes from the previous meeting with changes. <br /> • Minutes approved with changes. Beverly Aplikowski and Dwayne Stafford <br /> were present at the previous meeting. <br /> B. Chairman Mark Kelliher's comments <br /> • Stated that he intends to allow for 45 minutes of New Business discussion in <br /> order to allow the Committee to achieve its stated objectives <br /> C. New Business <br /> 1. "No Parking Petition" <br /> a. The committee discussed the city's parking ordinance <br /> (especially ¶'s (c) and (d). Some members of the <br /> • committee felt the ordinance was ambiguous and questions <br /> were raised as to the enforceability of the current <br /> ordinance. <br /> b, The committee requested that Dwayne Stafford ask the city <br /> attorney how he would phrase the parking ordinance to <br /> make it enforceable <br /> c. Chairman Kelliher proposed that the committee <br /> recommend that¶'s (c) and (d) be deleted and insert <br /> "Parking in residential districts shall be limited to the use of <br /> the residences and guests and shall not exceed six hours <br /> and shall not exceed two hours for anyone not a resident of <br /> a guest." The proposal passed by a 5-0 vote with one <br /> abstention. <br /> d. The committee then voted on the petition request of <br /> Therese A, Galatowitsch of 1780 Chatham Avenue, that the <br /> situation be remedied by erecting no parking during school <br /> hours' signs" along the portion of Chatham Avenue <br /> adjacent to Valentine Hills School. The proposal passed by <br /> a 6-0 margin. <br /> e. Dwayne Stafford said that he would be in contact with Ms. <br /> Galatowitsch regarding the actions of the committee. <br /> Dwayne also said that he would ask the city attorney how <br /> he would phrase the parking ordinance to make it <br /> enforceable. <br /> • <br /> 1 <br />
