~ Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, October 13, 1986 Page 6 Arden/Shoreview Animal Hospital, 1261 West County Road E - Initial and Final Inspection Hicks moved, seconded by Sather that Council accept the landscaping at .the Arden/Shoreview Animal Hospital, 1261 West County Road E, as recommended by Landscape Inspector Oelke and authorize release of the maintenance bond. Motion carried unanimously (4-0) Shoreview request re Participation in Future Plannin~ and Development of STH 96 Council was referred to letter from Shoreview City Manager (9-18-86) stating the Shoreview Council had directed him to invite other communities affected by Highway 96 to plan and develop a functional and aesthetically satisfying . highway. The Shoreview Manager asked that Arden Hills confirm their interest in pursuing this suggestion. Sather suggested Planner Miller submit a copy of the Parkway Study to the Committee for this project. Hansen moved, Sather seconded, that Council respond to the letter from Shoreview City Manage~stating Arden Hills interest in joint discussions of Highway 96 development, that Planner Miller be encouraged to contact the Shoreview Planner for joint discussions of this project and to forward a copy of the Arden Hills Parkway Study to the City of Shoreview. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Ordinance No. 244 - Rezonin~ Shannon Square Property, Lexin~ton Avenue - Waive Second Readin~ and Approve Hansen moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council suspend rules, waive the reading and approve Ordinance No. 244, REZONING CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF LEXINGTON AVENUE AND THE SOO LINE RAILWAY RIGHT-OF-WAY INTERSECTION FROM 1-2 TO B-2. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Advertise for Bids - Box, Plow, Hydraulics and Sander Council was referred to Public Works Supervisor's memo dated 10-13-86, requesting authorization to advertise for bids for equipment which was included in the 1986 Budget. Sather moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council authorize the advertisement for -bids for Public Works Department equipment to be delivered sometime in December 1986. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Approval of Fall/Winter Pro~ram Personnel Council was referred to Parks Director's memo (10-9-86), recommending individuals' to be hired to lead the 1986/87 Fall/Winter Program Activities Mayor questioned the salary increase for the Tumbling/Gymnastics Instructors. Sather advised the increase reflects the current rates for Gymnastics Instructors. Sather moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve the 1986/1987 Fall/Winter Program Personnel as listed and at the salary rates listed in Parks Director's Memorandum of October 9,1986. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Approval of Fall/Winter Park Maintenance Employee . Council was referred to Parks Director's memo (10-9-86), recommending Mr. Fuller's continued employment through 1986. Hicks moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve the continued employment of Kevin Fuller, at $5.50 per hour, through the year 1986. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Cummin~s Park Shelter and Concrete Floor for Picnic Shelter Councilmember Sather reviewed Buckley's memo (10-9-86), explaining that the picnic shelter was constructed without a concrete floor and since the construction company would be pouring a concrete floor for the warming shelter, Buckley requested authority to negotiate for both to be done at the same time.
