<br /> ~ <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, October 13, 1986 <br />Page 6 <br />Arden/Shoreview Animal Hospital, 1261 West County Road E - Initial and Final <br />Inspection <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Sather that Council accept the landscaping at .the <br />Arden/Shoreview Animal Hospital, 1261 West County Road E, as recommended by <br />Landscape Inspector Oelke and authorize release of the maintenance bond. Motion <br />carried unanimously (4-0) <br />Shoreview request re Participation in Future Plannin~ and Development of STH 96 <br />Council was referred to letter from Shoreview City Manager (9-18-86) stating <br />the Shoreview Council had directed him to invite other communities affected by <br />Highway 96 to plan and develop a functional and aesthetically satisfying . <br />highway. The Shoreview Manager asked that Arden Hills confirm their interest in <br />pursuing this suggestion. <br />Sather suggested Planner Miller submit a copy of the Parkway Study to the <br />Committee for this project. <br />Hansen moved, Sather seconded, that Council respond to the letter from <br />Shoreview City Manage~stating Arden Hills interest in joint discussions of <br />Highway 96 development, that Planner Miller be encouraged to contact the <br />Shoreview Planner for joint discussions of this project and to forward a copy <br />of the Arden Hills Parkway Study to the City of Shoreview. Motion carried <br />unanimously. (4-0) <br />Ordinance No. 244 - Rezonin~ Shannon Square Property, Lexin~ton Avenue - Waive <br />Second Readin~ and Approve <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council suspend rules, waive the reading <br />and approve Ordinance No. 244, REZONING CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND LOCATED AT THE <br />NORTHWEST CORNER OF LEXINGTON AVENUE AND THE SOO LINE RAILWAY RIGHT-OF-WAY <br />INTERSECTION FROM 1-2 TO B-2. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br />Advertise for Bids - Box, Plow, Hydraulics and Sander <br />Council was referred to Public Works Supervisor's memo dated 10-13-86, <br />requesting authorization to advertise for bids for equipment which was included <br />in the 1986 Budget. <br />Sather moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council authorize the advertisement for <br />-bids for Public Works Department equipment to be delivered sometime in December <br />1986. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br />Approval of Fall/Winter Pro~ram Personnel <br />Council was referred to Parks Director's memo (10-9-86), recommending <br />individuals' to be hired to lead the 1986/87 Fall/Winter Program Activities <br />Mayor questioned the salary increase for the Tumbling/Gymnastics Instructors. <br />Sather advised the increase reflects the current rates for Gymnastics <br />Instructors. <br />Sather moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve the 1986/1987 Fall/Winter <br />Program Personnel as listed and at the salary rates listed in Parks Director's <br />Memorandum of October 9,1986. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br />Approval of Fall/Winter Park Maintenance Employee . <br />Council was referred to Parks Director's memo (10-9-86), recommending Mr. <br />Fuller's continued employment through 1986. <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve the continued employment <br />of Kevin Fuller, at $5.50 per hour, through the year 1986. Motion carried <br />unanimously. (4-0) <br />Cummin~s Park Shelter and Concrete Floor for Picnic Shelter <br />Councilmember Sather reviewed Buckley's memo (10-9-86), explaining that the <br />picnic shelter was constructed without a concrete floor and since the <br />construction company would be pouring a concrete floor for the warming shelter, <br />Buckley requested authority to negotiate for both to be done at the same time. <br />
