. Special Council Meeting, August 23, 1986 Page 1 In summary, Councilmember Weyandt stated that the budget responsibilities would be with the city where that station exists. Mayor Wedell suggested that we define the mission of the various stations. Councilmember McGraw believed that there will be separate contracts and there followed discussion of the nature of the contracts as they affect the various cities and the stations. . Nancy Hansen expressed concern regarding the availability of daytime fire fighters. Discussion followed regarding hiring alternatives. It was the consensus of the councilmembers present that: 1. The staffs of Arden Hills and Shoreview should work together in identifying a site location. 2. A report should be fotwarded to the councils in approximately two weeks. 3. Fire Consultant Bill Quirk should submit a list of equipment for this fourth station. 4. The staff work with the ISO to identify cost savings. 5. Find out if the ratings for the cities of Arden Hills and Shoreview will be changed. It was also the consensus of those present that land for the station should be acquired in 1986 and hopefully construction started in the same year. MeetinR with North Oaks and Arden Hills The next meeting was scheduled in three weeks on September 13, 1986 at the City of Arden Hills at 9:30 a.m. Councilmember Sundberg inquired about the status of the City of North Oaks and it was directed that a letter be forwarded to North Oaks explaining what was discussed today and inviting them to the September 13 meeting. .1 Adiourrunent Meeting was adjourned at 10:47 a.m. ~!?Jln/~/.
