<br />.. -. ~ <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Tuesday, May 27, 1986, 7:30 p.m. <br />Village Hall <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Woodburn called the meeting to <br />order at 7:32 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmembers Dale Hicks; Nancy <br />Hansen, Thomas Sather <br />Councilmember Gary Peck <br />Public Works Supervisor Robert Raddatz, Clerk Administrator <br />Charlotte McNiesh, Deputy Clerk D~rothy Zehm <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Sather moved, seconded by Hicks, that the minutes of the Regular Council <br />Meeting of May 12 be approved as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Absent: <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Business from the Floor <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD CHRISTOFFERSEN <br />Absent <br /> <br />Glenview Avenue Storm Sewer <br />Council was referred to Engineer's report of June 6, 1979 relative to drainage <br />problem reported at Glenview Avenue and' Glenview Court, and to Council action <br />taken 6/25/79. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged, after discussion of a recent complaint, that the drainage <br />situation should be resolved. <br /> <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Sather, that Council authorize the City Engineer to <br />study the drainage and give Council his recommendations to alleviate the <br />problem. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Public Safety/Works Committee Recommendations <br />Council was referred to minutes of Public Safety/Works Committee meeting of <br />5/15/86. <br />Purchase of Jetter with Truck and Snow Plow Truck <br />Raddatz explained that the 1970 Jetter was found to be in good shape, for <br />its 17+ years, by Mcqueen Equipment; noted that its estimated trade-in <br />value is $10,000; cost of new Jetter is estimated at $55,000; noted that <br />the only rust inside is apparently where it has been welded; reported <br />that, when purchased by Arden Hills in 1977, cost was about $10,000. <br /> <br />In discussion, Raddatz explained that the 1970 Jetter runs on two <br />engines; new Jetter would run on one engine: reported that the Public <br />Safety/Works Committee r~commends purchase of a new Jetter at this time <br />while City can still recoup the cost of the 1970 Jetter; estimated useful <br />life of Jetter at 10 to 15 years; estimated time of delivery of a new <br />Jetter at 5 to 6 months. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Raddatz reported that the snow plow truck he proposes to purchase is <br />smaller than the budgeted truck, but will better fit the City's need at <br />this time; estimated the cost of the smaller truck at $45,000 (larger <br />truck at $54,000); reported the truck/hoist/plow to be replaced is about <br />10 years old. <br /> <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Sather, that Council authorize advertisement for <br />bid for jetter/truck and snowplow truck as described. Motion carried <br />unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Street Li~ht Format <br />Paul Malone referred Council to an amended draft of proposed insert for <br />the Town Crier explaining the purpose of the street light survey, and to <br />a revised version of the proposed survey card. <br />
