.. -. ~ MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING Village of Arden Hills Tuesday, May 27, 1986, 7:30 p.m. Village Hall Call to Order Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Woodburn called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m. Roll Call Present: . Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmembers Dale Hicks; Nancy Hansen, Thomas Sather Councilmember Gary Peck Public Works Supervisor Robert Raddatz, Clerk Administrator Charlotte McNiesh, Deputy Clerk D~rothy Zehm Approval of Minutes Sather moved, seconded by Hicks, that the minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of May 12 be approved as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Absent: Also Present: Business from the Floor None. REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD CHRISTOFFERSEN Absent Glenview Avenue Storm Sewer Council was referred to Engineer's report of June 6, 1979 relative to drainage problem reported at Glenview Avenue and' Glenview Court, and to Council action taken 6/25/79. Council acknowledged, after discussion of a recent complaint, that the drainage situation should be resolved. Hicks moved, seconded by Sather, that Council authorize the City Engineer to study the drainage and give Council his recommendations to alleviate the problem. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Public Safety/Works Committee Recommendations Council was referred to minutes of Public Safety/Works Committee meeting of 5/15/86. Purchase of Jetter with Truck and Snow Plow Truck Raddatz explained that the 1970 Jetter was found to be in good shape, for its 17+ years, by Mcqueen Equipment; noted that its estimated trade-in value is $10,000; cost of new Jetter is estimated at $55,000; noted that the only rust inside is apparently where it has been welded; reported that, when purchased by Arden Hills in 1977, cost was about $10,000. In discussion, Raddatz explained that the 1970 Jetter runs on two engines; new Jetter would run on one engine: reported that the Public Safety/Works Committee r~commends purchase of a new Jetter at this time while City can still recoup the cost of the 1970 Jetter; estimated useful life of Jetter at 10 to 15 years; estimated time of delivery of a new Jetter at 5 to 6 months. . Raddatz reported that the snow plow truck he proposes to purchase is smaller than the budgeted truck, but will better fit the City's need at this time; estimated the cost of the smaller truck at $45,000 (larger truck at $54,000); reported the truck/hoist/plow to be replaced is about 10 years old. Hicks moved, seconded by Sather, that Council authorize advertisement for bid for jetter/truck and snowplow truck as described. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) Street Li~ht Format Paul Malone referred Council to an amended draft of proposed insert for the Town Crier explaining the purpose of the street light survey, and to a revised version of the proposed survey card.
