It was reported that the Karth Lake Homeowners <br />Association will discuss the issue of a permanent solution to the lake level <br />problem and report their recommendations to the City Council. It was noted <br />that 3 or 4 non-lske residents have stated that they receive no benefit from <br />the pumping and should not be assessed; 3 residents on the lake did not want <br />the lake pumped. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Park Dedication Payment Schedule - Northpark Business Center <br />Council was referred to letter of May 16, 1986 re Park Dedication Fees, <br />Northpark Business Center, expressing reluctance to any change to their current <br />park dedication fee agreement. Council accepted letter - took no action. <br /> <br />Finance Committee Appointment <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Sather, to ratify the Mayor's appointment of Thomas <br />Steele as a member of the Finance Committee for the remainder of 1986. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />Ed~ewater Estates <br />Council was referred to memo (5/20/86) from Zehm notifying Council of the <br />re-siting of the apartment building 30 feet to the east. <br /> <br />Excess Land - Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant <br />Council was referred to letter from Department of the Army (5/16/86) advising <br />that the 25 acres (Area A) has been withdrawn from excess. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MCNIESH <br /> <br />Report on Investment Transactions <br />(Treasurer Lamb absent) <br />$502,754.15 at Twin City Federal at 6.51% interest, to mature <br />9/15/86. <br />$1,066,633.33 invested in Treasury Bill to mature 11/13/86 at 6.274% <br />interest (effective rate) at Kidder Peabody. <br />$100,000.00 at American Savings, Stockton, CA @ 7.8% interest <br />(interest paid monthly) to mature 5/20/87. <br />$596,085.22 at Twin City Federal at 6.71% interest, to mature <br />6/19/86. <br /> <br />5/14/86 - <br />5/15/86 - <br />5/20/86 - <br />5/20/86 - <br /> <br />Sather moved, seconded by Hansen, to ratify the investments as reported. <br />Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Approval of Retail Sales and Rubbish Hauler Licenses <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council approve the retail sales license <br />for L & T Tailer (Arden Plaza) and the Rubbish Hauler License for Waste <br />Management (commercial hauler), Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 86-27, Apportionment of Assessments Relatin~ to Impr. Nos. <br />Street 81-2, Water 67-1. and Storm Sewer 83-2 - Everest Investments II <br />Sather moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council adopt Resolution No. 86-27, <br />APPORTIONMENT OF ASSESSMENTS RELATING TO IMPR. NO. STREET 81-2, WATER 67-1, AND <br />STORM SEWER 83-2. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Claims <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Hansen, to approve the Claims as submitted. Motion <br />carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />LJVFD Benefit Association Meetin~. May 29 <br />McNiesh reported that Councilman Peck may have a conflict. Hansen volunteered <br />to attend the meeting. <br /> <br />Property at Glenpaul and New BriRhton Road <br />Dale Eickelberg inquired about condition of property at the corner of Glenpaul <br />and New Brighton Road, which is overgrown with tall grass and weeds; reported <br />windows are broken, house looks abandoned and is wide open; property is an <br />
