Raddatz said roadway is already compacted, but the base will be <br />wider. <br /> <br />McNiesh said the Resolution authorizing Advertisement for Bids is tentatively <br />on the May 12 Council agenda with bid opening on June 12, <br /> <br />McNiesh reported that the State has awarded the bid for the south portion of <br />the project (south of Floral Drive). <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Lake Johanna Boulevard Stripin~ <br />Hansen asked the procedure to have Lake Johanna Boulevard striped for <br />walkway/bikeway from Stowe Avenue to County Road D; suggested that the County <br />be requested to continue the striping in this area in the same way it is <br />striped around the north portion of Lake Johanna; reported the road is used by <br />joggers and bikers; feels it is dangerous because street is wide and some <br />drivers consider it as two traffic lanes in each direction; feels the striping <br />would alert drivers to the space allotted to bikers and pedestrians. <br /> <br />Garba~e Pickup <br />Woodburn explained that school buses and garbage trucks are exempt from the <br />road posting weight maximums; reported their excessive weight has caused roads <br />to break up in several places. <br /> <br />Woodhurn suggested an alternative might be to request bids for garbage hauling, <br />possibly on a City-wide basis, or for certain zones within the City, reducing <br />the number of garbage trucks in a given area; also could possibly result in a <br />decrease in costs to residents. <br /> <br />Labor Ne~otiation Meetin~ <br />Sather reported that a labor negotiation meeting is scheduled at 7:00 a,m. on <br />Wednesday, April 16, <br /> <br />Opus Park Dedication <br />Sather reported that park dedication negotiations are continuing; anticipates <br />resolution thereof within 60 days. <br /> <br />Case No, 86-10 (about 9:10 p.m,) <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Sather, to bring the motion back at this time. <br />Motion carried unanimously, (4-0) <br /> <br />Hansen said she is uncomfortable about the proposed amendment to the motion <br />which adds the condition that the entire park dedication be paid at occupancy <br />of Building C; feels Council should obtain Attorney Lynden's opinion. Sather <br />offered to discuss the matter with Woodbridge; feels Council should pursue a <br />more forthright approach than the initial settlement, <br /> <br />Sather moved to table the motion to the next Council meeting. Motion was <br />seconded by Hicks and carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MCNIESH <br />Ordinance No. 239, Amendin~ City Code Section 2-18, to Increase Salaries of <br />Mayor and Council Effective 1/1/87 - Introduce by Title <br />Sather moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council introduce Ordinance No. 239 by <br />title. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Retail Sales License - Blue Bell Ice Cream <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Sather, that Council approve a retail sales license <br />for Blue Bell Ice Cream, Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Schedule Special Council Meetin~ with Shoreview and North Oaks <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Sather. that Council schedule a Special Council <br />Meeting with Shoreview and North Oaks at the Shoreview City Hall at 7:00 p.m, <br />on April 29. <br /> <br />(McNiesh to relay Woodburn's request that L,J,V,F.D, be invited to attend this <br />meeting,) <br />
