CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 319 <br /> AN ORDINANCE <br /> RELATING TO THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE AND REFUSE <br /> The Arden Hills City Council hereby ordains that Chapter 11, Article n, Section 11-15 is <br /> added to the Municipal Code ofthe City of Arden Hills and Chapter 11, Article II, Section <br /> 11-18 of the Arden Hills Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 11-15. Purpose. The City has determined that regulation of garbage and refuse <br /> collectors and haulers is necessary in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the <br /> residents of Arden Hills by reducing: <br /> a. The frequency of the unsightliness of curbside trash containers; <br /> b. Litter caused by the effects of weather on the contents of curbside trash <br /> containers; <br /> . c. Wear and tear on City streets due to heavy truck traffic; <br /> d. The noise pollution associated with the process of collecting garbage and <br /> refuse; and <br /> e. Interference with the City's road maintenance activities caused by the presence of <br /> curbside trash containers. <br /> Scction 11-18. FreQuencv. The collection of garbage and other refuse shall be made at least <br /> once each week by a duly licensed collector. In regard to the collection of household generated <br /> garbage and refuse, the City shall be divided into two zones. Zone I is that portion of the City <br /> located south ofInterstate 694. Zone 2 is that portion of the City located north ofInterstate 694. <br /> Licensed residential collectors shall arrange customer collection routes and schedules so tllat <br /> collection occurs in Zone I on Tuesday of each week and in Zone 2 on Wednesday of each week <br /> unless the designated collection date is a holiday in which cvent collection may occur on the day <br /> following the holiday. <br /> . <br /> ____u_ <br />
