"-......... <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, July 22, 1985 <br />Page two <br /> <br />ScreeninR and Exterior StoraRe - Arden Plaza <br />Council was referred to Lynden's letter of 7/18/85 re Arden Plaza Exterior <br />Storage Problems. <br /> <br />Lynden noted that the accumulation of debris and rubbish is a violation of <br />Chapter 16 of the City Code, and it is also a violation of Appendix A of the <br />City Code, the Zoning Ordinance. Lynden advised that if the violator does <br />not abate the nuisance, the City can abate the nuisance and prepare a state- <br />ment of costs incurredo Lynden noted that the housekeeping problem is a <br />violation of several sections of the Zoning Ordinance which in turn is also <br />a violation of the Special Use Permit, which can be revoked, if the <br />exterior storage problem is not cured. <br /> <br />McNiesh reported that she was unable to contact Mr. Robert Rein until today ... <br />to advise him that this matter would be on tonight's agenda; reported that <br />Rein, or a representative, could not attend tonight's meetingo McNiesh re- <br />ported that she did contact C. G. Rein a number of months ago relative to <br />the poor housekeeping, and was advised that it is the tenant's responsibility <br />to maintain the premises, and they would be reminded of this obligation. <br />McNiesh said it did appear better for a timeo <br /> <br />In discussion, the lack of adequate screening of the dumpsters was noted as <br />the greatest problem; the dumpsters are still visibleo It was noted that <br />the scotch pine recently planted are about 4 to 5 feet in height and do not <br />adequately screen the dumpsters; curbing, although not solid curb, looks <br />fairly goodo Lynden noted that Council did approve the screening with scotch <br />pine; reported that the specifications accepted by Council have been meto <br /> <br />Hicks commended Rein for complying with the tree screening; noted that the <br />screening provided, as of today, is not adequate; noted that.the City re- <br />quires others to adequately screen. <br /> <br />Council action was deferred to a meeting when C. Go Rein representative <br />can be heard. <br /> <br />Request to Adopt Resolution SupportinR Bernard Skerbes for Position on <br />Reaional Transit Board <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Council adopt Resolution No. 85-28, <br />SUpPORTING BERNARD SKERBES FOR POSITION ON REGIONAL TRANSIT BOARDo Motion <br />carried unanimouslyo (4-0) <br /> <br />Request to Adopt Resolution No 85-29, SupportinR Improvement to the Inter- <br />section of Hodason Road at the Entrance to Chippewa Middle School <br />Hicks moved to adopt Resolution No. 85-29, SUPPORTING IMPROVEMENT TO THE <br />INTERSECTION OF HODGSON ROAD AT THE ENTRANCE TO CHIPPEWA MIDDLE SCHOOL. <br />Motion was seconded by Peck and carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />Investment <br />7/10/85 - $130,000 at First Federal at 7.3% interest to mature 9/10/85. <br /> <br />Hicks moved to ratify the Treasurer's investment. Motion was seconded by Peck <br />and carried unanimouslyo (4-0) <br /> <br />Chanae Order Noo 3, Improvement Noo 84-2 - Lametti Addition <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council approve Change Order No.3, <br />Improvement No. 84-2 - Lametti Addition, in the amount of $1,627.520 Motion <br />carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />ChanRe Order No.2, Improvement No. 84-1 and 84-3, Royal Hills North and <br />and McClunR Third Additions <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Peck, that Council approve Change Order Noo 2, <br />Improvement No. 84-1 and 84-3 - Royal Hills North and McClung Third Addi- <br />tions, in the amount of $200.00.
