<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting, April 29, 1985 <br />Page four <br /> <br />Public Works Full-Time Employee <br />Council was referred to Raddatz's memo of 4/25/85 re Replacement for <br />the Sixth Position, Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Council authorize advertisement <br />for a full-time Public Works position. Motion carried unanimously. <br />(4-0) <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE TREASURER DONALD LAMB <br /> <br />Investments <br /> <br />4/22/85 - $2,400,000 at Kidder Peabody @ 8.15%, to mature 4/30/85. <br />4/22/85 - $2,587,484.38 at First Federal @ 8%, to mature 5/1/85. <br />4/22/85 - $1,095,498.04 at Twin City Federal @ 7.25%, to mature 5/1/85. <br />4/15/85 - $223,821.14 at First Federal @ 8.4% to mature 5/22/85. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, to ratify the Treasurer's investments. <br />Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> <br />Report on Fire Board Meeting of April 24th <br />Hansen reported that the land purchase agreement is still an issue. Cities <br />want a reversion clause stating that after fifteen years, if one city <br />pulls out, station will revert to the remaining two cities; Fire Department <br />opposes this. <br /> <br />Hansen reported that the next Fire Board meeting will be on May 22nd; <br />noted that the Fire Department and cities have both said they won't budge <br />on this issue; appears we are at an impasse. <br /> <br />Council concurred to go along with Shoreview and North Oaks. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Cable TV Committee Meeting <br />Sather reported that :he committee discussed problems with taping, permanent <br />lighting, equipment purchase, etc.; noted that cost of equipment was <br />estimated at $2,500 to $3,500. <br /> <br />Finance Committee Meeting <br />Peck reported that eight letters inviting bids from auditors for 1985 <br />audit have been sent. <br /> <br />Peck reported that the license/permit subcommittee has not finished its <br />study to date; have suggested that a fee for false alarms be considered. <br /> <br />Public Safety Committee Meeting <br />Hansen reported that Fire Chief Dave Koch attended the meeting and explained <br />the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department's operation to the committee. <br /> <br />Squire's Memo re Big Ten Supper Club <br />Hansen referred Council to Squire's memo recommending that the new owner <br />be given further consideration relative to the conditions of Building <br />Permit approval for the addition constructed in 1984. <br /> <br />After discussion, it was the general consensus of Council that Mr. Mesenbourg <br />should be given 45 days to comply with the conditions of the Building . <br />Permit approval or appear before Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Demos' Letter of 4/25/85 <br />Woodburn referred Council to Mayor Demos' proposal that each Council <br />appoint two of its members and two of its residents residing on Lake <br />Josephine to a joint ad hoc committee to study and identify potential <br />lake surface regulations on Lake Josephine. <br /> <br />Deferred to next Council meeting. <br />
