<br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Page fou r <br /> <br />January 28, 1985 <br /> <br />........ .-~ <br /> <br />Public Safet Committee Recommendations <br />Council was referred 0 Minutes of ubllc Safety Committee <br />Meeting of 1/21/85. <br /> <br />House Numbers <br />Hansen reported that fire, police a'nd ambulance personnel <br />have emphasized the need for better home Identification; noted <br />that residents have been encouraged, via the Town Crier, to <br />Install numbers for aasy Identification, but some have not <br />heeded the request. <br /> <br />Sue Schroeder, Town Crier Editor, reported that there wll I <br />be another notice In this month's Town Crier, alerting residents <br />of the need to d I BP I ay "easy to read" house n umbe rs . <br /> <br />It was suggested that members of the Public Safety Committee may <br />want to volunteer to survey the City for Inadequate house numbers. <br />It was noted that Parks Committee members volunteer to clean up <br />parks, plant trees and flowers etc. as a service to the City. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Salltros Letter of 12/27/84 <br />Council concurred that Salltros' letter of 12/27/84 be acknow- <br />ledged~ explaining that the City has consIdered many options to <br />resolve his concerns; feels It has done al I the CIty can do, but <br />finds hIs current recommended solutions not feasible. <br /> <br />(Bob Raddatz was requested to Install a "No Trucks" sign on <br />Hamllne Avenue at County Road E.) <br /> <br />Status Report - Third Fire Station <br />Hansen reported that North Oaks Mayor Foley conducted the <br />January 22nd Mayors Meeting wIth Fire ChIef Dave Koch. (Hansen <br />attended In Woodburn's absence.) <br /> <br />Hansen reviewed the conditions listed at the meeting; noting <br />that all three cities Intend to continue Its Joint Power arrange- <br />ment with LJVFO. Hansen reported that It was the Intention of <br />al I attending the meeting that the listed conditIons would be <br />reviewed and SubmItted to an attorney for pr~paratlon of an <br />Agreement draft for further consideration. <br /> <br />Hansen explained that, under these conditIons, the three cities <br />would own the 3rd fire station building and land. LJVFO would <br />earn equIty In both 8 a percent/year not yet agreed upon; If a <br />cIty decides to pullout, the properties would be asse,~ed at <br />time notice to withdraw Is given, and the two remaining cities <br />wll I pay said city Its unearned equity (up until the time LJVFO <br />owns It). <br /> <br />It was noted that It was previously discussed, by the Fire Board, <br />that If the Joint Powars Agreement Is diSSOlved. the 3rd station <br />would be sold back to the citIes at a nominal cost. Hansen noted <br />that a formula would be set up to protect the firemen and the <br />cities. Hansen said the next Fire Board Meeting Is Tuesday, <br />January 29th. hopefully, a lIst of needed equipment will be sub- <br />mitted at that meeting. Hansen reported that all citIes have <br />been Invited to participate In discussions with architect. ~ <br /> <br />Approval of 1985 Business Licenses <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Peck, that Councl I approve the Business <br />License listed, and the four Rubbish Hauler Licenses, subject to <br />Clty's receipt of required Schedule of Fees charged for haUling. <br />Motion carried unanImously. (5-0) <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Committee MeetlnQ <br />Hansen reported that she has II conflict wIth Parks and Fire Board <br />meetIngs on the same night; needs a substitute lIaison.
