<br />MAMA Comparable Worth Study
<br />Council was referred to materials regardi ng the ~1Ai'lA Joi nt Compensation Study,
<br />from Metropolitan Area Management Association, and to McNiesh's memo of 1/11/35
<br />relative to Comparable Worth, listing reasons she feels that ,joining the MAMA group
<br />would be beneficial to Arden Hills.
<br />
<br />In discussion, Council generally concurred <lith f!;cil'iesh's recorrunendation to join
<br />the MAMA Group. It was noted that a point system is very difficult to put
<br />together and also very time consuming. ~
<br />
<br />Some of the concerns expressed were:
<br />
<br />1) once in place, can City up-grade job descriptions and salaries?
<br />2) once we joi n, are we compelled to stay with it?
<br />3) jobs in Arden Hills do not match job descriptions of other cities and will
<br />have to be given different titles in accordance with job descriptions
<br />dev'e loped.
<br />4) what artl the ramifications when a new job is added'!

<br />After di scuss i on, Hansen moved, seconded by Peek that Counc il iHJOpt Reso lut ion
<br />No. 85-7, RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTROL DATA BUSINESS
<br />ADVISORS, INC. JOINT COMPARABLE WORTH STUDY, AT A COST OF $3,525.00. Motion
<br />carried unanimously. (4-0)

<br />Request for Petition to Abandon Ditch 12-W(lQ~!L)!j_d:le Pt'operti'!S,
<br />It was noted that this portion of County Oitch 12 is no longer needed because of
<br />the recent storm water improvement.
<br />
<br />Council concurred to refer the request to Attorney Lynden fOI' his report at the
<br />January 28th meeting as to requir'ed procedui'e.
<br />
<br />Authorization to Invite Proposals for Bond C().lms,!J,
<br />McNiesh explained that currently our Bond Counsel pn'p,lr"s re~~olutions on all
<br />developments under Statute 429 and attends the public hearings and meetings;
<br />handles bond sales and prepares the Prospectus; prepilres resolutions for apportion-
<br />ment of assessments, after actual split of assessments 15 milde, by the City
<br />Engineer.

<br />Council discussed immediate and anticipilted Il(!ed fOi- Dond counsel services, and
<br />the time element for preparation of proposi),'(s and prospectus for bond sale was
<br />queri ed.
<br />
