<br /> --------- <br /> . <br /> ~. <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Monday, December 17, 1984 - 7:30 p.m. <br />Page Four <br />REPORT OF VIllAGE TREASURER DONALD lAMB <br />Investment <br />12-5-84 - $700,000 at First Federal maturing 5/20/85 at 9.30% interest. <br />Rauenhorst moved to ratify the Treasurer's investment. Motion was seconded <br />by Hansen and carried unanimously. (5-0) <br />Street tights at Amble Drive/Lexington Avenue and Pleasant Circle/Lexington . <br />Avenue <br />Council was referred to traffic counts and Johansen's memo re light <br />'location and cost estimates (12/4/84). <br />Rauenhorst moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council approve the installation <br />of street lights at the minimum of cost as outlined in Johansen's memo. <br />In discussion, the reaction from neighborhood residents was requested relative <br />to adequacy of light at the Amble Drive intersection, if the existing pole <br />(east side of lexington) is utilized with a longer cobra arm extended over <br />lexington Avenue with a higher wattage light, and at Pleasant Circle inter- <br />section, if the existing pole (east side of lexington) is utilized with a <br />similar cobra arm and light. <br />Mark Knutsen and Perry Lippert concurred that the extended arm over lexington, <br />with increased wattage, would give adequate light. lippert reported that <br />he ta 1 ked wi th home owners on the corners and they were "excited to get 1 i ghts. " <br />Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br />(N.S.P. to determine appropriate wattage.) <br />Knutsen thanked Council on behalf of the neighborhood for its efforts in getting <br />Lexington re-striped to three lanes. <br />Annual Institute for <br />Council was referred Institute for Building <br />Officials. <br />Rauenhorst moved, seconded by Mulcahy, that Council authorize larry Squires' <br />attendance at the 29th Annual Institute for Building Officials on January 16, <br />17 and 18, 1985 as outlined in memo. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br />Donation- Minnesota Baptist Conference <br />Woodburn thanked Minnesota Baptist Conference, on behalf of the the Council <br />for a $300 donation to the City in appreciation of serviced rendered. <br />Other! Business <br />Rauenhorst and Mulcahy thanked the Council and staff for their cooperation <br />during their terms of office. Mulcahy said he wants to stay active in Village . <br />affairs in any way he can. <br />REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE McNIESH <br />Schedule Special Meeting <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Rauenhorst, to schedule a Special Council Meeting <br />at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday December 27, 1984. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br />1985 Business licenses <br />Council was referred to list of renewal of business licenses for 1985. <br /> - - - ----- <br />
