Clerk Dorothy Zehm. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Rauenhorst moved, seconded by Hansen, that the Minutes of the <br /> Octobe r I st Council Meeting be approved as amended. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. (5-0 ) <br /> Dedication of Flaq Pole L1 qhtl nq and Plantlnqs In Apprecl atlon <br /> of Years of Service of Mayor Hen ry J . Crepeau Jr. and Councilman <br /> James W. Wlnqert <br /> Mayor Woodburn welcomed Lois Crepeau and Shirley Wingert and <br /> their families and friends. On behalf of the City of Arden Hills, <br /> Woodburn dedicated the permanent landscaping In front of the <br /> Village Hall In memory of Hank Crepeau Jr. and Jim Win ge rt <br /> and explained that although the finishing touches, Including <br /> the plaques, are not done, the shape and symbolism are rep resen- <br /> ted. <br /> Wood'b u rn noted that Hank was on the City Councl I for 22 years, 9 <br /> years as Mayor, and that the flagpole was his gift to the CI ty. <br /> Woodburn noted that Jim Wingert served the Village twice, serv- <br /> Ing six years as Coun c I I man, and after a short retirement, he <br /> came back for almost a year because the Village needed him. <br /> Woodb u rn said I t I s fitting that these two men are remembered <br /> together because of their many similarities; noted that their <br /> love of people was evident, and I n turn people loved them. <br /> Woodburn noted that you always felt comfortable an d relaxed with <br /> both of them; even though their Ideas were"contrary to yours, <br /> you were not offended because you knew they II ked you as a per- <br /> son. <br /> Woodb u rn noted that It was their love of people that led them <br /> to public service; personal ambition played no part In the I r <br /> actions; noted that both Hank and Jim had an automatic mutual <br /> trust arrangement with a II the people they contacted. You knew <br /> they would have a thoughtful approach that was not capricious; <br /> noted that their humanitarianism did not blind them to re a I I ty , <br /> but you knew I twas the re . <br /> Woodb urn stated that this memorial may be for Hank and Jim, but <br /> It has a I arger purpose.
