<br />Minutes of Rejular Council Meeting <br />Monday, JUly" 1984 - 7:30 p.m. <br />Page Five <br /> <br />Christiansen agreed that parkways enhance the flavor of a <br />community over thoroughfares; noted that certain streets do need <br />to be improved; feels a parkway system may be dismissed if it is <br />found to be not financially feasible. <br /> <br />Motion carried (Rauenhorst, Mulcahy, Christiansen voting in favor <br />of the motion; Hicks and Woodburn voting in opposition.) (3-2) <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Karth Lake Pumping Project <br />Woodburn reported that the authorized $4000 expenditure for the <br />pumping of Karth Lake was exceeded; noted that about 300 feet of <br />hose was added and the hose sustained damage; noted that Johansen <br />is preparing a cost summary for Council. <br /> <br />Hicks noted that it was his understanding that the home owners <br />around Karth Lake would pay costs in excess of $4000. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MCNIESH <br /> <br />Vendin Mechanical Music Amusement Device <br />McNiesh reported that Theisen Ven ing <br />for the following at Blue Fox, Inc.: <br /> <br /> <br />Fox Inc. <br />icenses <br /> <br />1 Mechanical musical device <br />1 Mechanical amusement device <br />1 Cigarette vending machine <br /> <br />20.00 <br />40.00 <br />15.00 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Christiansen moved, seconded by Rauenhorst, that Council approve <br />the licenses for Blue Fox, Inc. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Temporary Gambling License Application <br />Council was referred to Application for a Temporary Gambling License <br />by Minnesota Manufactured Housing Association, at McGuires, 1201 <br />West County Road E, on December 7, 1984. <br /> <br />McNiesh reported that background investigations were made by Ramsey <br />County Sheriff Department; recommendations are favorable. <br /> <br />Rauenhorst moved, seconded by Christiansen, that Council approve <br />the Temporary Gambling License for Minnesota Manufactured Housing <br />Associates. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Claims and Payroll <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Christiansen, that Council approve the <br />Claims and Payroll as presented. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Employment of Recording Secretary <br />Council was referred to McNiesh's memo of 7-9-84, recommending the <br />employment of Donna Tramm,3248 New Brighton Road, as Recording <br />Secretary. <br /> <br />Rauenhorst moved, seconded by Christiansen, that Council authorize <br />the employment of Donna Tramm as Recording Secretary at $5.25/hour <br />(2 hour minimum/meeting). Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Parking Problem - County Road D at Josephine Beach <br />McNiesh reported that Mrs. Tony Hoivik, Shoreline Lane, called to <br />report a parking problem on County Road D, which was especially <br />bad on July 4th; suggested that temporary "No Parking" signs be <br />installed along one side of the street, so cars can get through. <br /> <br />Council concurred that the signs be installed on the south side of <br />County Road D, between Lexington and Shoreline Lane, d'uring the <br />months of July and August. <br />
