<br />~, <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Monday, March 26, 1984 <br />Page Eight <br /> <br />Councl I Meetin~ Schedule <br />HIcks moved, seconded by Mulcahy, that a Special Council Meeting be <br />scheduled on March 27th at the Shoreview Village Hall, and that <br />Regular April Council MeetIngs be held on Monday, April 9th and <br />April 23rd at the Arden Hills Village Hall. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br />Public Works <br />Hicks reported receipt of a few cal Is from residents relative t~ <br />excessive use of sand this winter, and damage to lawns by snowplows. <br />Hicks noted that PublIc Works Supervisor Johansen Is apparently <br />aware of the problem and Intends to repair damaged lawns with black 4It <br />dirt and seed; wi II roll back existing sod when feasible, and wll I <br />do some curb repair where necessary to prevent erosion. <br /> <br />Youth Service Bureau <br />Hicks reported that the Bureau is requesting that businesses be <br />solicIted for funds to support Its youth employment program; reported <br />the Bureau Is placing youth In Jobs In ImpressIve numbers; Youths <br />earned about $200,000 last year. <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE McNIESH <br /> <br />Volunteer to Serve on Finance Committee <br />Woodburn appointed volunteer Monlka Tuggle, 4126 James Circle, to <br />the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />Hicks moved to ratify the appointment. Motion was seconded by Mulcahy <br />and carried unanimously. (3-0) <br /> <br />Claims and Payroll <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Mulcahy, that CouncIl approve the Claims <br />and Payroll. MotIon carried unanimously. (3-0) <br /> <br />Request to Reduce Speed on Hamline <br />McNlesh reported receipt of a call requesting that the speed on <br />Hamllne be reduced to 20 mph because of the rough road condItions. <br />McNlesh reported that yellow "Rough Road - Reduce Speed" signs are <br />being Installed temporarily; noted that Council may wish to pursue <br />a speed reduction through the County and State. <br /> <br />Council referred the request to the PublIc Safety CommIttee for its <br />recommendatIons to Council. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br />Hicks moved, seconded by Mulcahy, that the meetIng adjourn at 11:30 <br />p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
