MotIon carried unanimously. City booster pump would have to be <br />Increased; Rosevllle and St. Paul would have to be notified of the <br />Increased water need; second water tower would be needed. <br />Christoffersen suggested that a charge be made to cover part of <br />water tower costs and booster pump costs; suggested bll lIng the <br />standard water charge, plus a percentage for additional costs for <br />the system. It was noted that agreement would have to lImIt them <br />to a certain gallonage maximum and contract would have to be long <br />term (20+ years) to assure City of repayment for costs entaIled. <br /> <br />Mulcahy saId he was not convinced that there Is any benefit to <br />the CIty If arsenal connects to municIpal water. <br /> <br />Christiansen said that new technology may, In the future, make <br />purifying theIr wel I water more feasIble. <br /> <br />After discussion, ChristIansen moved, seconded by Rauenhorst, that <br />CouncIl authorize preparation of a prelIminary feasibility study, <br />not to exceed cost of $500, re estimated cost to provIde the ser- <br />vice to the arsenal. Motion carried (Rauenhorst, Christiansen, <br />Woodburn voting In favor of the motIon; Mulcahy voting In opposi- <br />tIon). (3-1) <br /> <br />REPORT OF VILLAGE PARKS DIRECTOR JOHN BUCKLEY <br /> <br />1984 DIseased Tree Removal Contract <br />COUlnc'I'w-aslr6felrred to Buckleyis-memo re 1984 Shade Tree Program <br />(2-23-84), Buckley reported 260 dIseased trees In 1983, 15% of <br />which were removed by the City's contractor at an average cost of <br />$126.00. It was noted that the City's costs are mostly reimbursed <br />by the property owners ($4,769 paid to contractor; $198.00 not <br />reimbursed for trees on publIc property). <br /> <br />Christiansen moved, seconded by <br />advertisement for bids for 1984 <br />as outlined In memo of 2-23-84. <br /> <br />Rauehorst, that Councl I authorIze <br />Tree and Stump Removal Contract, <br />Motion carried unanImously. (4-0) <br />
