Christiansen moved, seconded by Rauenhorst, that Council approve the projects set forth In the memo for tennis courts/hard court area combinations and play structure. In discussion, concern was expressed relative to "Cost of structure wI! I be limited to $8,000 or less". Woodburn and Mulcahy concurred that It would seem more appropriate to determine the equipment needed, and request cost for same. It was noted that creativity Is what Is being sold; new things are emerging all the time. Rauenhorst and Christiansen concurred that this Is a competitive ~ way to purchase equipment In their experience (Valentine Hills School and Townhouse Village). Motion carried (Rauenhorst, Christiansen, Mulcahy voting In favor of the motion; Woodburn voting In opposition). Mulcahy moved, seconded by Christiansen, that Council approve the 1984 Spring Program as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. Buckley said he feels It will be of benefit to people In the North Suburban area; recommends the City's Involvement. After discussion, In which concerns were expressed re who wI! Christiansen moved, seconded by Rauenhorst, that Councl I approve the hIring of the four people listed In memo (2-24-84), and additional short-term substitutes at an hourly wage not to exceed $4.25/hour. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) REPORT OF VILLAGE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR BUD JOHANSEN Council was referred to Johansen's memo of 2-23-84, and attach- ments thereto: 1984 Street Sweeping Contract - 198~ Johansen reported that the Public Works Committee recommends approval of the New Brighton Street Sweeping Contract for 1984; noted that It Is within the budget. . Mulcahy moved, seconded by Christiansen, that Councl I approve the 1984 Street Sweeping Agreement with the City of New Brighton, at the Increased cost of $35/hour, and authorized execution thereof by the Mayor and Clerk Administrator. Johansen reported that the Public Works Committee recommends the purchase of the Sui lair Model 125CFM; feels the 125CFM model Is worth the additional $350.00. After review of the three quotes received, Christiansen moved, seconded by Mulcahy, that Council approve the purchase of the Sui lair 125CFM Air Compressor from Hayden - Murphy Company at $7,842.00. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0)
