Attachment A
ac -
HILLS
MEMORANDUM
DATE: October 27, 2025
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers
Jessica Jagoe, City Administrator
FROM: Julie Hanson, Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk
Jess Skalicky, Parks and Recreation Manager
SUBJECT: 75th Anniversary Budget
Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source:
E.1
Council Should Consider
E.1
Council should discuss designating a budgeted amount to fund the production of Arden Hills'
75th Anniversary event.
Background
At the February 10, 2025, Council Work Session, Council directed staff to form a committee
comprised of staff and resident volunteers to plan the Arden Hills 75th Anniversary. Staff
opened applications for interested residents and commission members to join the 75th
Anniversary Planning Committee, and the group was approved and appointed at the August 11,
2025, City Council meeting. Since then, this group of five residents, two Council liaisons, and
three staff members has met three times to discuss the 75th Anniversary and has selected Friday,
July 17, 2026, as the date for an Anniversary Celebration at Cummings Park from 1 p.m. to 8
p.m., in conjunction with the annual Penny Carnival.
The proposed community event will celebrate the City's 75th Anniversary with a fun, inclusive,
and family -friendly gathering that highlights the city's history and community pride. The 75th
Anniversary Committee has identified a live band, a car show, historical displays, and family -
friendly activities as key components of the celebration. Depending on the budget, the event
could also feature food trucks, local vendors, lawn games, bounce houses, face painting, a drone
light show, and other festival -style elements. Estimated costs may include event infrastructure
such as stage rental and sound support, portable toilets, security, event supplies, and additional
entertainment options ranging from bounce houses to cultural performances.
