<br /> .. <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />, MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: January 11, 1996 <br /> TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> FROM: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrato~ <br /> SUBJECT: 1996 Council Department Head Retreat <br /> Over the past several months, the Council has indicated that it is prepared to hold the <br /> Council/Department Head retreat. As Staff moves forward in preparing for this meeting to <br /> discuss strategic ideas, there are several issues which need to be resolved. <br /> The past year has been a challenge for the City in many ways. The public became impatient with <br /> Arden Hills efforts to deal with several significant issues that affected the quality oflife and the <br /> community's sense of well being. The turnover of City Staff has brought many new faces to <br /> City Hall. While each of these individuals brings a great deal of experience and professionalism, <br /> it comes at the cost of a loss of history. <br />- <br />=, This meeting is critical to focusing the priorities of the City over the next year. The continued <br /> changing nature of the challenges and issues facing Arden Hills impacts the services provided, <br /> The meeting is not necessarily an attempt to set goals, but to become better acquainted with each <br /> other and discuss the methods of which the City provides services to its citizens. The secondary <br />- purpose of this retreat could be to lead into a series of future meetings for future goal setting and <br /> the 1997 budget process. <br />- In order to better facilitate discussions that can begin addressing the various issues facing the <br /> City, I would look for Council input on the following meeting criteria: <br /> 1. ~/,J.-i / f 9" <br />- Day of Week / <br />~ -Weekday ~ ~~ <br /> -Weekend <br />- <br />- 2.
