Councilffiepartment Head Retreat <br /> Enclosed the Council will find a memorandum outlining some issues which <br /> should be discussed prior to scheduling the proposed Council/Department Head <br /> retreat. Once these items have been resolved, and potential schedule problems <br /> resolved, Staff will attempt to schedule the retreat in the next couple of months. <br /> e. Water System Improvements <br /> Public Works Superintendent Stafford has been investigating the water level <br /> problems experienced at the South Water Tower. Mr. Stafford has identified three <br /> key problems which he has proposed the City address and would like to briefly <br /> review these items with the Council. <br /> f. Gateway Business District <br /> The proposal from Unisource provides a good opportunity for the City to consider <br /> how the current zoning in the GBD impacts future development. It has become <br /> obvious that traffic levels from a high density office development cannot be <br /> supported. The Council may wish to discuss the impact ofrezoning on the overall <br /> vision of the GBD and how the use of other zoning techniques (ie: PUD) may <br /> accomplish the same while preserving the vision. <br /> 2. Non-Agenda Items <br /> - a. Bov Scout Stencilinl: <br /> The Council will find a request from the Boy Scouts proposing to stencil storm <br /> sewers near Lake Johanna and Josephine. Staffis supportive of the concept <br /> subject to modifying the proposed graphics. Please contact Staff with any <br /> comments you may have. <br /> b. PubliclPrivate Street Proposal <br />- Staff has been working with an applicant on a four lot subdivision at the end of <br /> Amble Road. The applicant is proposing a private drive for these single family <br /> homes. This would be a unique situation in Arden Hills and is not permitted <br /> under general zoning standards. Mr. Ringwald will briefly review this under <br />- Department Head comments. <br />- c. MASC Proposed Hockev Rinks <br />I Staff has met with the MASC to discuss the proposed four (4) rink addition to the <br /> Blaine facility. Staff is still trying to meet with the local hockey associations and <br /> schools to determine their interest in participating financially. Staff will provide <br />I an update to the Council at the Worksession on the most current information <br /> available. <br />:, d. Indian Oaks Pond Gift <br /> Staff has received a request to donate a lot to the City of Arden Hills. Mr. <br /> Ringwald will provide information at the Meeting and Staff would like to briefly <br /> discuss this during Department Head Comments. <br />. <br />
