" ..
e. Governors 1996 Bondin!! Bill .
Staff has confirmed the inclusion of the $300,000 bonding request within
Governor Carlson's bonding bill.
f. 1996 Street Improvement Project Dvdate
On January 9, 1996, Staff held two informational meetings on the proposed 1996
Street Improvement Project. Both meetings were very well attended by local
residents, As a result of these meetings, Staff would propose that only residents
abutting property identified in Alternate 2, be notified of the Public Hearing on
January 29, 1996,
The residents living on the streets impacted by Alternate 2, appeared to be the
most responsive to the proposed projects. A number of Alternate I residents
voiced opposition to the project. Others raised some valid concerns and questions
about prior street improvements and the need for improvements at this time.
Based on this, Staff and Councilmembers in attendance at the meeting have
indicated the Alternate 2 Plan looks most feasible.
CPI and CDS have voiced opposition to the reconstruction of Fernwood Avenue.
As the two major property owners on this street it may warrant further discussion.
The Council may also wish to add streets trom Alternate I, such as Eide Circle.
If the Council is in agreement with this approach, Staff will send a letter to the -
Alternate I residents explaining their streets removal from this years proposal.
Staff will also notify residents of any other streets added to Alternate 2 at the
same time,
g. January 9. 1996. Letter to Kathv Skweres
For the past year the City has received numerous complaints about the home at -
1900 Edgewater Avenue which was severely damaged by fire. Mr. Kriesel now --
believes the conditions exist to apply portions of the City Code in an attempt to -
have the house demolished or repaired. Depending on how the property owner
reacts, the Council should expect additional information from Staff over the next -
30-60 days. -
h. January 7. 1996. Letter from Bill and Carole Mitchell I
The Mitchell's have expressed their concerns about the proposed 1996 street
improvements to Ridgewood Court.
1. Revised Resolution #96-06 Addressing Highwav 96 I
Staff has revised Resolution #96-06 based on input from the January 8, 1996 .:
Council Meeting.
J.
