------
I
2. Arden Vista Court CuI-dc-Sac access .1
When the Parks & Recreation Committee and I met with the area residents surrounding
the trail, we talked about leaving the five (5) foot wide cul-de-sac easement relatively
undeveloped. Some additional stepping stones could be added in between the ones that I
currently exist. However, after further conversation between the Parks & Recreation
Committee, City staft: and residents who have difficulty walking on rough surfaces, it I
appears that the trail development project should include making that area as accessible
as possible. Residents using wheel chairs or pushing strollers will have difficulty using
the Stepping Stones, even if they are placed close together. In accordance with the I
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the City should make every attempt to make all
facilities and trails accessible.
Recommendation I
StatTrecommends that the trail project include the construction of a four (4) foot
wide bituminous or concrete pathway from the cul-de-sac to the trail.
