I'
.
I Mr. Dwayne Stafford
,. December 26, 1995
Page Two
I The proposals from Waldor Pump and Quality Flow would provide basically similar
system and operating capabilities, The Tri-State proposal lacks significant costs for the
subcontractor work and, therefore, is not actually comparable, The Quality Flow Systems
I proposal at $21,794.50 is approximately 7% less than the similar system proposed by
Waldor Pump,
I We have submitted all three proposals to our electrical engineer for review of the proposed
control panels, In his opinion, the proposals from Quality Flow and Waldor were similar
and suitable but, before final acceptance, there should be clarification that phase failure
I protection is provided.
Based on our review of the proposals, we would recommend award of the project to
I Quality Flow Systems. The amount of the award should be left open at this time until the
proposed storm sewer improvements in the area are better defined. There is a good
I potential for some additional savings on the lift station project if the excavation work can
be done with the proposed storm sewer work,
.. After the final scope of the work on the lift station is defined, we would request an
additional quote from Quality Flow Systems,
I Since this lift station is located in a rather sensitive area, we would recommend meeting
with the two adjacent homeowners prior to construction to discuss the proposed work and
possible restoration options or landscaping to minimize the visual impacts.
I If you have any questions or need additional information. please let us know.
I Sincerely,
MSA, CONSULTING ENGINEERS
I ~~~~.E.
I
I CRJ:tw
OOO.2202.dec
1
t'
I
