MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: May 13, 1996 <br /> I TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> I FROM: Kevin Ringwald, Community Development Director ~ <br /> I SUBJECT: Accepting donation of property at 1400 Indian Oaks Court, <br /> Resolution 96-31 <br /> I Request <br /> Ms, Sandra Welton requests that the City of Arden Hills accept her donation of property at 1400 <br /> Indian Oaks Court (Exhibit A). <br /> I Background <br /> The property at 1400 Indian Oaks Court contains a pond which services the drainage needs of the <br /> I general neighborhood (Exhibit B), The property at 1400 Indian Oaks Court contains the entire <br /> pond, Ms, Welton resides on a seperate lot which is directly South ofthe subject property (1409 <br /> Ie Indian Oaks Trail). The property on which Ms, Welton resides will not be effected by the <br /> proposed donation (ie., setbacks, lot size, etc.). <br /> I Ms, Welton requests that the City Council accept her donation, since the general public benefits <br /> by the surface water management and aesthetic qualities provided by the pond. Ms. Welton will <br /> be responsible for the taxes which may be due, prior to the Warranty Deed be recorded. <br /> I The request received a favorable response when reviewed by the City Council at its January 16, <br /> 1996 worksession. Attached to this memorandum is Resolution 96-31 (Exhibit C) which <br /> . formally accepts the donation of the subject property. <br /> Impact on Budget <br /> I The pond is and has been a part of the required surface water management plan for this <br /> neighborhood, Given this requirement, the City has been and will be responsible for the <br /> I maintenance of the pond irregardless of this donation, Therefore, the donation of the subject <br /> property should not have any unforeseen impacts on the budget. <br /> I Recommendation <br /> The Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution 96-31 and authorize the Mayor to <br /> execute and the Staff to record the necessary documents to effectuate the change in ownership of <br /> I the subject property (Lot 5, Block 2 of Indian Oaks Two, Ramsey County, Minnesota). <br /> ft <br /> I <br />
