STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />I CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />1 RESOLUTION 96-46 <br /> RESOLUTION ENDORSING A METROPOLITAN <br /> GROWTH POLICY <br />I WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council estimates that the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area <br /> (TCMA) will increase by 330,000 households and 650,000 people by the year 2020; and <br />I WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is reviewing Growth Options for the TCMA as it relates <br /> to the provision of necessary public improvements to accommodate this growth while <br />I maintaining the high quality of life residents of the TCMA currently enjoy; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills (City) is a municipal corporation in the TCMA; and <br />I WHEREAS, the City is also concerned about the long term physical and financial health ofthe <br /> TCMA; and <br />I WHEREAS, the City is a member of the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities (AMM) <br />.. and has councilmembers which serve on various AMM committees; and <br /> WHEREAS, the AMM has thoroughly reviewed the metropolitan growth options as proposed <br />I by the Metropolitan Council and the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC); and <br /> WHEREAS, the AMM has adopted a metropolitan growth policy which blends the strongest <br />I elements of the Metropolitan Council and BATC proposals and articulates additional elements <br /> which were not addressed in either proposal; and <br />I WHEREAS, the City supports the policy adopted by the AMM on growth options for the <br /> TCMA. <br />I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills, <br /> Minnesota that the policy adopted by the AMM on metropolitan growth should be adopted by the <br />I Metropolitan Council as the preferred growth option. <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />I THIS 8TH DAY OF JULY, 1996. <br /> DENNIS PROBST, MAYOR <br />I ATTEST: <br />..
