Ouad Ice Arena <br /> The Council is asked to adopt Resolution #96-47, approving participation in I <br /> financing, construction and operation of a four-sheet ice facility, appropriating <br /> money with respect thereto, and authorizing execution of documents in <br /> connection therewith. The adoption of this resolution would authorize I <br /> participation in the Quad Ice Arena project. New Brighton, Shoreview and <br /> Mounds View have all unanimously adopted similar resolutions. Brooklyn Park <br /> has declined to participaIe. MASC continues to investigate various parties whom I <br /> may be interested in participating in the fourth sheet of ice. <br /> c. Resolution #96-56. Mightv Ducks Grant I <br /> The Council is asked to adopt Resolution #96-56, authorizing an application to <br /> the Mighty Ducks Capital Bonding Fund. Should the Council adopt Resolution <br /> #96-47, MASC has requested Arden Hills act as the vehicle for this grant I <br /> application. Arden Hills has been asked to submit the application on behalf of <br /> the Quad, because the MASC cannot request funds from itself. <br /> d. Trail Estimate I <br /> The City council is asked to authorize Pay Estimate #1 to Thor Construction -- <br /> Company, Inc. In the amount of$31,704.94. <br /> e. 1997 Street Improvements - Pay Estimate #2 I <br /> The City Council is asked to authorize Pay Estimate #2 to T. A. Schifsky & Sons <br /> in the amount of$178,853.93. The Engineer has reviewed this issue and <br /> recommends payment of the requested amount. I <br /> f. Resolution #96-55. Ordering Preliminary Report for 1997 Street <br /> Improvements I <br /> The Council is asked to adopt Resolution #96-55, ordering a Preliminary Report <br /> in the matter of the Street Improvement Project of 1997. Adoption of this <br /> resolution would allow the City Engineer to begin preparation for the 1997 street I <br /> program. <br /> g. Planning Case #96-18. Lake Johanna Fire De9artment. 3246 New Brighton I <br /> Road. Variances and SUP Amendment <br /> The Planning Commission recommends denial of the original application. The I <br /> Fire Department has revised its request whereby the variances have been reduced, <br /> but are still present. <br /> h. Planninl! Case #96-13. James Danielson. 3238 N. Hamline Avenue.
