G-y'l
Mr. Dennis Probst I
September 9, 1996 ..
Page 4
PeeWee and Squirt teams (a total of four teams).8 These teams are part of the same associations that I
sponsor the boys teams. We anticipate that we will have at least one additional high school team and
several more youth girls teams next year. The present number of female participants contrasts
dramatically within the number of females that participated five years ago when we had no more than I
five to ten females participating in total throughout the youth program and no females participating at
the high schoollcvel. The Mounds View Youth Hockey Association is very dedicated to the
aclvancemt:llt of our girls hockey program but we art: also vcry conct:rnecl about possible gender I
equity problems that could arise if we are unable to meet our future ice needs, The demand for ice
will become critical this year and will only worsen in following years. We believe it to be imperative
to support the Blaine four rink complex and I ask for your support and assistance. I
It is also my belief that the construction of an ice facility in the northern suburbs will benefit residents
of the entire county because ice time that Mounds View and lrondale presently purchase at the I
existing Ramsey County rinks will be available for use by other youth associations and other users
withing the county. Our youth associations presently use all of the Ramsey County rinks. 1
Please do not hesitate to call if there is additional information that we can provide to you. My phone
numbers are listed below and my home address is: Mike Kreidler. 1518 Arden Vista Court, Arden ..
Hills, MN 55112. Tom Lahoud, 2373 Laporte Drive, MoundsView, MN 55112, is the Irondale
representative who has been primarily involved in this project on behalf of his youth association.
You should feel free to call him if you need any information from his association, Please send any 1
mail to our home addresses.
Sincerel~ I
~
Michael S.
