"(4 I
Mr. Kevin Ringwald -2- October 2, 1996 I
. If left-turn restrictions onto Lexington A venue are imposed, more traffic will use the ..
Grey Fox Road entrance by finding its way through the existing St. Paul Companies I
parking lot. This is not a desirable situation, particularly after the east access onto
Grey Fox Road is moved further to the west.
. We believe that the operational problems identified are primarily a result of I
inadequate spacing between the Lexington Avenue/Grey Fox Road intersection and
the proposed access points. As discussed in our previous letter of August 30, 1996, I
we recommend that the City examine the feasibility of providing a new, single-access
point on Lexington Avenue that would serve Shannon Square, Arby's/Sbarro and the
new retail development. The spacing would be such that full access would be I
allowed.
. Finally, we recommend that the City consider extending the west access on Grey Fox I
Road so as to provide a direct connection between Grey Fox Road and Arby's/Sbarro
and the retail development to the west. This connection will significantly reduce the I
need to use the St. Paul Companies parking lot as a drive-through and will reduce the
need for using Lexington A venue for traffic circulation. This concept is consistent
with the Traffic Circulation Plan of the Lexington Avenue Business Area Plan as ~
shown in the attached figure.
Once again, we appreciate the opportunity to assist you on this project.
