Council was referred to a letter from the Kem Milling Attorney dated 5-26-89 indicating his client is agreeable to extending the date of contract termination. The Clerk Administrator advised he had contacted Delta Environmental, upon receipt of the letter, to begin the second phase of the environmental audit. MN. LEAGUE CITIES CONFERENCE SCHEDULE SPECIAL COUNCIL MTG; 6/5/89 RECYCLING Clerk Administrator Berger reminded Council that the League of Cities Conference will be held June 6-9, 1989. Clerk Administrator Berger suggested Council schedule a Special Council Meeting to discuss the continuation of the recycling program with the cancellation of Supercycle contract. Berger stated he would obtain quotes from several recycling firms and prepare a report for Council review at the meeting; he suggested uninterrupted service to residents would be beneficial to the city recycling program. Malone moved, seconded by Growe, that Council schedule a Special Council Meeting on Monday, June 5, 1989, at 5:30 p.m., to consider the issue of continuation of the city recycling program. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) CANCEL 6/12/89 REG. COUNCIL MTG. . RES. 1189-36; SUPPORT HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRAINING EXTEND TEMPORARY SUP; FARMERS INS. cancellation of the DISC; UTILITY SERVICE HOOKUP SHOREVIEW/TCAAP ADJOURN Malone moved, seconded by Hansen, that the Regular Council Meeting of June 12, 1989 be cancelled due to lack of a quorum. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) Mahowald moved, seconded by Growe, that Council approve Resolution No. 89-36, Supporting Hazardous Materials Training Program for the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) Malone moved, seconded by Hansen, that Council extend the expiration date of the Temporary Special Use Permit for Farmers Insurance Group to June 27, 1989, due to the 6/12/89 Council Meeting. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) Council discussed the Shoreview/Arsenal proposed utility service hookup. It was the Council consenSUb to defer discussion on this matter until the Council worksession scheduled on July 17, 1989.
