CONSENT ITEM - 8C <br />'It <br />-ARZEEN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: November 24, 2025 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Jessica Jagoe, City Administrator <br />FROM: Julie Hanson, Assistant to the City Administrator/City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: Approval of Aerial Illuminations Contract — 751h Anniversary Drone Light Show <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$12,500 $12,500 2025 TCG Grant <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Approval of a contract with Aerial Illuminations for a drone light show at the July 17, 2026 <br />751h Anniversary event. <br />Discussion <br />The 751h Anniversary Planning Committee is currently planning activities for the Arden Hills 751h <br />anniversary event next summer which will be held at Cummings Park. While the option of having a <br />fireworks display was discussed, we are limited as to a viable location for which fireworks could take <br />place. A member of the Committee suggested a drone light show as an alternative, which is fairly <br />newer technology. Staff reached out to three drone companies for more information and received a <br />response from one, Aerial Illuminations. Note this company recently performed a drone light show <br />for the City of Burnsville. A sample of that show, and others, can be viewed by visiting their website <br />Aerial Illuminations I drone light show. <br />Staff obtained a proposal from Aerial Illuminations (Attachment A), whose representative confirmed <br />that Cummings Park affords ample room to conduct a show. As shown in the proposal, Aerial <br />Illuminations handles every aspect of the drone light show, adhering to strict safety standards and <br />ensuring FAA permitting is obtained and compliance is achieved. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
