<br /> MINUTES OF THE ARDEN HILLS REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br /> .. MONDAY, OCTOBER 30, 1989. 7:30 P.M. - CITY HALL <br /> -' <br /> CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Sather <br /> called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> . ROLL CALL The roll being called, the following members were <br /> present: Mayor Thomas Sather, Councilmernbers Nancy <br /> Hansen, Paul Malone, and JoAnn Growe. Absent: Thomas Mahowald, Also present: <br /> Acting City Attorney John Miller, Treasurer Frank Green, Park Director John <br /> Buckley, Public Works Supervisor Dan Winkel, Clerk Administrator Gary Berger and <br /> Deputy Clerk Catherine Iago. <br /> ADOPT AGENDA Mayor Sather advised two additional items are included on <br /> the 10/30/89 Agenda. <br /> Malone moved, seconded by Growe, to adopt the Revised <br /> Agenda of 10-30-89 which includes the Treasurer's Report and the Bid Award for a <br /> Tank Truck Chassis. Motion carried unanimously~ (4-0) <br /> APPROVE MINUTES Hansen moved, seconded by Malone, to approve the minutes <br /> of the Regular Council Meeting held October 10 and the <br /> Council Worksession held October 16, 1989. as submitted. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. (4-0) <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR Growe moved, seconded by Malone, to approve the Consent <br /> Calendar for the October 30 meeting and authorize <br /> execution of all necessary documents contained therein: <br /> a. Acknowledgment of Memo on Security Gates in Parks. <br /> b. Acknowledgment of Memo on Arsenal Athletic Complex. <br /> . c. Acknowledgment of Letter to/from Shoreview on Arsenal Utility Connection <br /> Site Plan Review. <br /> d. Acknowledgment of Letter from William Bauer on North Suburban Cable <br /> Commission. <br /> e. Approval of List of Claims and Payroll. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> TREASURER REPORT Treasurer Green reported on the following investments: <br /> 9-7-89 Invested $100.000.00 at American National Bank, @8,45%, to mature 3-6-90 <br /> 10-16-89 $200,000,00 was rolled into the 4M Liquid Fund. <br /> Malone moved, seconded by Growe, that Council ratify the <br /> Treasurer's report as submitted. Motion carried unanimously. (4-0) <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS None. <br /> BID AWARD; Council was referred to a memorandum from Park Director <br /> TANK TRUCK Buckley dated 10-30-89 relative to awarding the bid for <br /> CHASSIS & TANK a water truck chassis and stainless steel tank. <br /> Buckley advised that bid specifications for separate bidding on the water truck <br /> chassis were mailed to five Twin City Truck dealers and the stainless steel tank <br /> specifications were mailed to four dealers. <br /> . Councilmember Malone questioned the large discrepancy in the two bids received <br /> for the tank truck chassis. He also asked if the 6 percent sales tax would apply <br /> only to the truck chassis or include the attached equipment, <br /> . <br />
