This total is used to <br />calculate the 10% that can be removed without replacement and the remaining base for <br />what needs to be replaced. Staff is unable to confirm the required replacement ba sed <br />on the available information. <br /> <br />Response: <br /> <br />• 439 cal. inches of significant trees exist in the project limit today. <br />• 10% equals 43.9 cal. inches which can be removed without replacement. <br />• 332 cal. inches of significant trees will be removed. Resulting in 288 inches of <br />significant trees planned to be removed which factor into replacement <br />requirements. <br />• With the 1:2 ratio, it results in 144 cal. inches are required to be replaced. <br />• Planting note has been updated on Sheet L300 to reflect this quantity. <br /> <br />c) Page L003, Planting Plan: <br /> <br />a. There is a callout “The Planting Plan includes 127.5 caliper inches of total 166 caliper <br />inches required to be replaced. An additional 38.5 caliper inches will be planted at an <br />adjacent location on campus.” Provide additional information for the location, species, <br />size, and quantity of trees that will be planted at an adjacent location for City approval. <br />Per Section 1325.055, a performance guarantee is required following the approval of a <br />tree preservation plan and prior to any construction. The amount of the performance <br />guarantee shall be 125% of the cost of materials and installation. With the current <br />information, staff would be unable to verify the required amount for the performance <br />guarantee and that the proposed plan would meet the City requirements. <br /> <br />Response: A quantity of (15) 8-foot tall, White Pines Pinus Strobus (assume 2.5 <br />caliper inches for an 8-foot tall coniferous tree) will be planted near the Central <br />Plant. <br /> <br />b. If this information is not available, provide a narrative that explains why the 38.5 caliper <br />inches identified to be replaced cannot be planted within the Limit of Work area and why
