<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, 2-26-90 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone referred to the Engineer's letter <br />dated 1-31-90, relative to the proposed reconstruction of <br />Hamline Avenue in 1994 between County Road C2 and <br />Snelling Avenue. Malone explained the main water pipes in <br />Arden Hills are located on Hamline Avenue and there had been discussion regarding <br />enlarging the pipes in conjunction with such a project on Hamline Avenue. <br /> <br />lW1LINE AVE.; <br />1994 RECONSTRUCTION <br />& WATER PIPE INSTALL <br /> <br />Council requested Engineer Maurer review the feasibility of installing larger <br />water pipes along Hamline Avenue in conjunction with this 1994 reconstruction <br />project proposed by Ramsey County. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone referred to Engineer Maurer's letter <br />dated 2-2-90, regarding an update on the current status <br />of the City's Municipal State Aid (MSA) System and the <br />potential route designation of Round Lake Road, from TH96 through the Gateway <br />Business District, over THI0 and up old Snelling Avenue to TH 96. <br /> <br />MSA SYSTEM; <br />ROUND LK. RD. <br /> <br />Malone recommended the Engineer pursue this proposed routing of Round Lake Road <br />in an attempt to accomplish designation of Old Snelling Avenue on the MSA system <br />and as relates to the Met Council concerns regarding additional access points <br />for the GB District. <br /> <br />Council concurred with Malone's recommendation and directed the Engineer to begin <br />study of the proposal. <br /> <br />RECYCLING; <br />SURCHARGE ON <br />UTILITY BILLS <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone explained the recycling program is <br />doing well; reminded staff the Council planned to charge <br />for recycling by placing a surcharge on sewer utility <br />bills in 1991 when Ramsey County grant monies cease. <br /> <br />RECYCLING INFO. <br />METRO NUMBER <br /> <br />Councilmember Mahowald advised there is a metropolitan <br />recycling telephone number to call regarding recycling <br />programs in various communities. He suggested staff <br />telephone number and publish the number in the Town Crier. <br /> <br />pursue locating the <br /> <br />RECYCLING; CALENDAR Councilmember Hansen explained the Public Works/Safety <br />Committee suggested the City publish a calendar of the <br />recycling dates for inclusion as a "flyer" in the Town Crier. <br /> <br />There was discussion relative to the possibility of a change in the recycling <br />pickup day. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone expressed his concern regarding the day change. He stated <br />Arden Hills began the Tuesday recycling and a neighboring city utilized the same <br />day; preferred no change in the Tuesday recycling program. <br /> <br />APPOINT MEMBER <br />PARKS COMMITTEE <br /> <br />Councilmember Mahowald recommended the appointment of <br />Mark Magers, 4521 Keithson Drive, to serve on the Park~ <br />Committee. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Hansen approved the appointment of Mark Magers to serve on the Parks <br />Committee and directed staff to send the appropriate letter of appointment. <br /> <br />REPORT; CITY HALL <br />COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> <br />Councilmember Mahowald reported on the first City Hall <br />Committee meeting and submitted a copy of the minutes of <br />the meeting. <br /> <br />Mahowald stated the membership is excellent and the agenda for the next meeting <br />will include: Reviewing Community Demographics and the staff "Wish List" and a <br />representative from the City of Shoreview will be present to discuss the <br />procedures followed relative to Shoreview's new facilities. He encouraged all <br />Councilmembers to attend the meetings or forward their input to the Committee. <br />
