City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy '� Effective February 29, 2016 <br />"AR�)EN H11 i Amended July 28, 2025 and <br />certification from the appointing authority stating the hourly compensation to be paid the <br />employee for service as an election judge and the hours during which the employee will <br />serve. The city may reduce the wages of an employee serving as an election judge by the <br />amount paid to the election judge by the appointing authority during the time the <br />employee was absent from the place of employ <br />The city reserves the right to restrict the number of employees absent from work for the <br />purpose of serving as an election judge to no more than 20 percent of the total work <br />force at any single worksite. <br />All employees eligible to vote at a State general election, at an election to fill a vacancy in <br />the office of United States Senator or Representative, or in a Presidential primary, will be <br />allowed time off with pay to vote on the election day. Employees wanting to take <br />advantage of such leave are required to work with their supervisors to avoid coverage <br />issues. <br />JURY DUTY <br />All permanent full-time Fa time and benefit earfii~ employees will be granted paid leaves <br />of absence for required jury duty. Time spent on jury duty will not be counted as time <br />worked for computing overtime. <br />Employees excused or released from jury duty during their regular working hours will <br />report to their regular work duties as soon as reasonably possible or will take accrued <br />Personal Time Off (PTO) to make up the difference. <br />Employees are to notify their supervisor as soon as possible after receiving notice to report <br />for jury duty. The employee will be responsible for ensuring that a report of time spent on <br />jury duty and pay for is completed by the Court Clerk so the City will be able to determine <br />the amount of compensation due for the period involved. <br />Temporary and seasonal employees are generally not eligible for compensation for <br />absences due to jury duty, but can take leave without pay subject to department head <br />approval. However, if a temporary or seasonal employee is classified as exempt, he/she <br />will receive compensation for the jury duty time. <br />COURT APPEARANCES <br />48 <br />
