<br />Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, 4-9-90 <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RmUEST TI'K) <br />ADDITIONAL <br />TELEPHONE LllIES <br /> <br />Council was referred to a mernoranchnn from Public Works <br />Supervisor Winkel dated 4-5-90, requesting two additional <br />telephone lines be installed at the city Hall. <br /> <br />Winkel advised he was representing staff and reviewed the difficulties enployees <br />in= to naintain open telephone lines. He stated the additional phone lines are <br />not budgeted in the :1990 Wdget and recommended the over budget costs be charged <br />to Government Buildings. <br /> <br />Malone moved, seconded by Mahowald, to approve the <br />installation of two (2) additional telephone lines at the City Hall. Motion <br />carried unanllnously. (3-0) <br /> <br />RECYCLING DAY <br />CHANGE; EVERY <br />WEDNESDAY <br /> <br />Council was referred to a mernoranchnn from the Clerk <br />Administrator dated 4-5-90, recommending a change <br />in the recycling day from Tuesday, biweekly, to <br />Wednesday on a weekly basis. <br /> <br />Berger explained his initial concerns regarding the proposed recycling day change <br />and reviewed the rationale offered by E-Z Recycling for improved service due to <br />the day change and a weekly collection schedule. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council concurred the weekly collection schedule is very appealing and suggested <br />that staff make a strong effort to promote the change and notify residents. <br /> <br />Malone moved, seconded by Mahowald, to approve the change <br />in the recycling days and amend the =rent contract with E-Z Recycling to <br />reflect the change beginning the first Wednesday in May and to continue every <br />Wednesday thereafter, and that the =rent contract with E-Z Recycling be <br />forwarded to the City Attorney for preparation of the contract amendment. Motion <br />carried unanbnously. (3-0) <br /> <br />COUNCIL CCMIDITS <br />APPOINT rnAIR; <br />FINANCE <br />COMMITI'EE <br /> <br />Counci11nember Malone requested the appointment of Carl <br />Rlmdquist as Olair of the Finance Carmnittee. Mayor <br />Sather con=red with the appoinbnent as requested. <br /> <br />Malone moved, seconded by Mahowald, to ratify the Mayor's <br />appoinbnent of Carl Rundquist as Olair of the Finance Carmnittee and directed <br />staff to notify Rundquist of the appointment. Motion carried unan:im1sly. (3-0) <br /> <br />MISCELLAlffiJUS Counci11nember Mah~ld complimented Clerk Administrator <br />Berger on the correspondence sent to the Senate and House <br />Tax Cormnittees on the recent proposed legislative action regarding MSA funds. <br /> <br />Berger reported he will continue to pursue this rratter and report to Council. <br /> <br />INVITATION; <br />GROUND BRKING. <br />TRAllITNG CENTER <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Berger advised Council is invited to <br />attend the ground-breaking ceremonies for the Army <br />Reserve Training Center on Monday, 4-16-90, at 2:00 p.ro, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DRAINAGE PROBLEM; <br />KEITHSON ADDITION <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Berger reported on the letter <br />received from Richard Foster, 4529 Keithson Drive, dated <br />4-3-90, relative to the drainage problems in this area. <br />
