Minutes of the Arden Hills Regular Council Meeting, 9-10-90 <br />Page 3 <br />COUNCIL �NIl�N'I'S <br />PLANNING <br />• �aSSION <br />Councilmembex Hansen e�ressed concern that the Flannirig <br />Camm.ission did not hold a meetirig on 9-5-90, due to lack <br />of a quonun; asked for suggestions to insure a quorum is <br />present at all future meetings. <br />Councilmember Malone reported on discussion from the 8-20-90 Council Worksession <br />and the suggestions that staff establish guidelines for Planning members as <br />relate to excu.sed absences and removal fram the Co�nission if attendance is law. <br />He also noted it was suggested the rnm�ber of inembers be reduced to indicate the <br />import�zce of beirig present to review the applications arid timely notification to <br />City staff of ak�sence fram a meetirig. <br />Mayor Sather discussed the Planning Conunission appointments which are normally <br />acca�lished in January 1991; suggested intexested persons be advised of the <br />i.n�ortance of atteridarx,�e and the current member atteridance records be carefully <br />reviewed at that time. <br />PUBLICITY; <br />CI�AN-UP DAY <br />Councilmember Hansen suggested staff notify local <br />newspapers of the upcoming Fall Clean-Up Day and that <br />it will be a joint venture with the City of Shoreview. <br />Hansen questioned if two public works pexsonnel will be worki.ng at the clean-up. <br />Winkel advised that two persons are requested and additional volunteers will be <br />welcc�me . <br />• RQ�G MIG. <br />RDGIONAL RAIL <br />, AUI'H. UPDA'I'E <br />NEW CI'�Y IAC'�O <br />r� <br />� <br />Councilmember Hansen reportea the RCLIG meeting will be <br />held on 9-19-90; topic is Charitable Gambling. <br />Councilmember Malone reported on the Regional Railroad <br />Authority meeting. <br />Councilmember Malone questioned the status of the <br />proposed new City logo; suggested he could informally <br />discuss the matter with a designer from Deluxe. <br />Mahowald recalled monies were budgeted in 1989 for the implementation of a new <br />logo. <br />STATUS RPT; Councilmembex Malone asked for an update on the status <br />I�ITHSON POND of the Keithson pond. <br />Clerk Ac�ministrator Berger reported on his discussions with the E�inePx, <br />developer and neighbors regarding the pond configuration and excavation process. <br />He e�lained agreement was reached between all parties except regarding the <br />excavation of one area of the pond on the Major's propex-ty. Berger recalled the <br />pond was to be excavated to meet original specifications and Mr. Majors recalled <br />the "point" area of the pond would not be eliminated. <br />Councilmember Malone recalled the pond is to be built to original specifications <br />and design. <br />Attorney Filla commPx�ted that during discu.ssions with Keith.son residents it was <br />noted that the Colburn property, to the south of the pond, was reduced in sr��are <br />footage bec-�ause the pond depth was increased and that no excavation will occur on <br />the Colburn property. <br />
