Counci1member Hansen suggested the letters received from <br /> REQUESl'S residents requesting street lights be forwarded to the <br /> Public SafetyjWorks Committee. <br /> KEITHSON POND Councilinember Malone referred to discussion of the <br /> Keithson Pond problems at the 10/22/90 Council <br /> Worksession and wished to clarify the fact that residents will be notified of <br /> action taken to correct the problems with the pond, I:ut not necessarily prior to <br /> the action being taken. He stated the residents involved may misinterpret the <br /> discussion and the city has the authority to take corrective actions whenever <br /> necessary, not subject to notification of the residents. <br /> Mayor Sather recalled advisin;] the residents the city would inform them of <br /> corrective actions taken on the pond, either by telephone or copies of <br /> correspondence and agreed the city does not have the obligation to notify the <br /> residents prior to beginning the corrective action. <br /> . AIR QUALITY Counci1member Hansen questioned if the city has received <br /> BOARD any odor complaints. <br /> Clerk Administrator Berger stated no complaints have been received regarding odor <br /> in the last nine months. <br /> RCWD APPOmIMENr Counci1member Hansen advised there are two vacancies <br /> SANDE & WELTZIN for appointment to the Rice Creek Watershed District <br /> Board; Gerald Sande has expressed interest in the Board. <br /> Hansen suggested Roberta Weltz in for appointment and advised she has not <br /> contacted Weltzin to confinn interest. She questioned if Council would have any <br /> objections to Weltz in and explained she will contact her to discuss the <br /> appointment and report at a future meeting. <br /> Council expressed no objections to Hansen pursuing this matter. <br /> SI'ATUS REPORI'; Councilme:mber Hansen questioned the status of the hiring <br /> ACCOUNTANT HIRE process for the new City A=untant position. <br /> The Clerk Administrator advised employment advertisements were placed in the st. <br /> Paul and Minneapolis Newspapers, as well as several govermnent organizations <br /> publications . <br /> RECYCLING Mayor Sather questioned if a staff person is currently <br /> aJORDINATOR servin;] as the "recycling coordinator". <br /> . Berger advised the former Public Works SUpervisor handled the recycling <br /> coordination and it has been handled by the Clerk on an occasional b3.sis. <br />
