<br /> ARDEN HILLS PLANNING COMMISSION - JULY 17,2002 8 <br />e Commissioner Duchenes stated previously the Commission had agreed that i I' a home had <br /> a one-car garagc, a two-car garage could be built because of a hardship, but a three- car . <br /> garage was not considered a hardship. <br /> Chair Sand opened the public hearing at 9:27 p.m. <br /> Mark Fertig, 1413 Colleen Avenue, stated the garage on his home was next to his <br /> neighbor's garage and not next to his neighbor's home. He replied his property had a <br /> drop-off in his backyard, which would limit their ability to add a double deep garage. He <br /> stated they would not consider adding a double deep garage. <br /> Alireza Foroozan, 1403 Colleen Avenue, stated he had a three car garage and there was <br /> enOLlgh room to get his trailer in his back yard. He stated applicant would also have <br /> enough room to get into their back yard. He stated Mr. Fertig's garage was really small <br /> and he encouraged the Commission to grant this variance. <br /> Chair Sand closed the public hearing at 9:33 p.m. <br /> Commissioner Ricke requested further information whether the City had granted <br /> variances on the north side of Colleen A venue for three car garages. <br /> Chair Sand recessed the meeting at 9:35 p.m. for Mr. Parrish to research Commissioner <br /> Ricke's request. <br />e Chair Sand reconvened the meeting at 9:44 p.m. <br /> Mr. Parrish statcd no variances had been granted for side or rear yard setbacks. He stated <br /> the only variances on Colleen were for fences. <br /> 1. Commissioner Zimmennan moved, seconded by Commissioner Rickc, to <br /> deny Planning Case 02-17, Setback Variance, Mack and Lisa Fertig, 1413 <br /> Colleen Avcnue, based on the fact that there was no hardship demonstrated. <br /> The motion calTied unanimously (6-1 Lemberg). <br /> PLANNING CASE #02-04, CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, 1245 WEST HIGHWAY 96, <br /> SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE MODIFICATIONS <br /> Chair Sand opened thc Public Hearing at 9:45 p.m. <br /> Staff reviewed their report of July 8, 2002 and asked for comments from the <br /> Commission. <br /> Chair Sand closed the Public Hearing at 9:47 p.m. <br />e Commissioner Zimmerman moved, seconded by Chair Sand to recommcnd for approval <br /> to City Council as submitted, Planning Case #02-04, City of Arden Hills, 1245 West <br /> Highway 96, Subdivision Ordinance Modifications as presented. <br /> The motion carried unanimously (7-0). <br />
