Mr. Ringwald reviewed for the Council the applicant, Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc., is requesting approval of an amendment to their previously approved Planned Unit Development (PUD) to I allow for expansion of Building E at their campus located at 4100 Hamline Avenue. Mr. Ringwald provided an overhead which showed the location of the proposed addition. He . stated it would look the same as the rest of the building, and would absorb part of the current skyway system. Mayor Probst inquired ifthere would be any changes to the skyway. Mr. Ringwald replied that I there would be no changes to that point of the skyway outside of the building. Mayor Probst inquired if there would be parking concerns connected with this addition. Mr. I Ringwald stated that although there are no parking concerns at the present time, the possibility exists in the future for this company to require construction of a parking ramp due to their rapid I expansIOn. MOTION: Hicks moved and Aplikowski seconded a motion that the City Council approve I Planning Case #97-03, PUD Amendment, per the Planning Commission recommendation. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). .. C. Highway 96 1. Lexim!ton Avenue Intersection Plans/Cost Participation . 2. Signal AQreement Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Superintendent, gave an overview of the 1997 Highway 96 . reconstruction costs. He stated the segment of Highway 96 from Mackubin Street in Shoreview west to Lexington Avenue was identified as one of the two segments of the highway to be I reconstructed in 1997. The Lexington A venue and Highway 96 intersection will be completed during the reconstruction, including turn lanes, and the roadway to approximately 1380 feet west of Lexington A venue. This will negate the need to close this intersection during reconstruction . of the Arden Hills segment between Lexington Avenue and Highway 10. Mr. Stafford reported on installation of an EVP System with the new traffic signals at Highway I 96 and Lexington A venue. Typically, the County charges the affected cities for this system. This would mean a 50/50 split between Arden Hills and Shoreview. . Mr. Stafford reported that Arden Hills will be responsible for payment of approximately $19,500 in storm sewer construction costs and approximately $5,000 for the EVP System. . Mr. Stafford referred to the two attached Agreements, and requested the City Council authorize .. the City to enter into these agreements as stated. .
